BenedictRafael There is absolutely nothing wrong with copying others, to make that clear. Copying is how we all learn and evolve, starting from our very first steps and words (yes, yes, I know this sounds like it was written by AI, lol). That being said, copying for the sole sake of copying totally makes no sense.
Look at what Apple did with their Liquid Glass (ok, I’ll call it that way now) - pretty much no one likes it from Apple users, but somehow Nothing users crave about it 😄 It’s a design mess made to look good, with no regard(s) to usability (check the first pic in my previous comment here). Same goes with blur. Why is blur even necessary except to be blurred? Nokia died because they didn’t switch to Android, not because they didn’t have blur lol.
Btw, Android 4 used to have transparency (and even blur), and that was in 2013, but it wasn’t requested in Nothing community until Apple finally added that to their devices:
Xiaomi has blur and transparency since 2020, also not requested until Apple added that (and Xiaomi is straight-up copying Apple usually):
Again, for the third time - root + Magisk and blur everything you want, even text so you won’t be able to read anything (but hey, it will be blurred 🤷♂️).
