Not saying it’s unnecessary, just that I can’t figure out why is it necessary, when you need to tap twice instead of pressing once the power key (or simply lock the phone and don’t look at it anymore because it’s immediately black/off when you double tap to lock 🤷‍♂️).

Not really anything new and everyone got rid of it since then until recently. Nothing particularly useful to have, and it will go away in the next year or two because it’s just not fast enough to use and it’s not introducing anything that already doesn’t exist in Android for many years now, it just looks different for the same existing function.

Why other brands haven’t removed features they are just adding and also maintaining smoothness what they are ?

I had spent 4 months before buying this smartphone researching about everything

I bought it because of their minimal designs and glyph light, monochrome theme ok fine i like it but a smartphone just for making calls, messaging but we don’t provide anything just a monochrome design that a third party app provides

steveeeg No need to roll back to 3.5 once stable 4.0 is out, as your device will automatically receive stable update for you to download, even in beta

Correct. I liked how realme ui 3.0 handelt it. Very efficient mulittasking. Just open the sidebar, click on the app and bum, popup view. With out needing to leave the app

Not really sure why is it difficult to grasp that blindly copying others just to look like them is NOT a new feature to bring to your users 🤷‍♂️ If they can do improvements on that part AND KEEP usability as it is then I’m all for it. If they want to blur this, blur that, transparency here, transparency there, add gimmick here and gimmick there, all of that without any function in regular day to day usage… Well sorry but I’m not for that and many other phones on the market have exactly that (which makes them frustrating and terrible to use).

Next claim is there’s no sidebar - I show him he goes “that’s a popup” 😆 He still can’t answer a single question I asked him, he just wants to be annoyed with his phone after deep four-month long research he did before buying it 🫠 You are correct though.

Because on every single existing Android phone features like YouTube background play are blocked by Google themselves as they unlock that if you buy YouTube premium. You can listen/play with Firefox or other apps but you don’t want to, you are strictly against all options and even against paying for YouTube Premium to have it work 😁

Pop up works and sidebar works same that’s fine what I am telling is in SiderBar which looks like a minimal bar in rectangular shape on right on every time appears on screen so you can click it and open any app

If I am using chrome suppose I need to open youtube there ,i have to come to home screen to open it and then choose for pop view and then I have to come back to chrome

BenedictRafael arguing about those things is not going to get anyone anywhere. We can be making posts and threads about features and gimmicks that we all want, but ultimately Nothing and the development team have the final nail in the coffing. They might see a few thing here and there, but if they have a clear path and vision for their OS, then we just have to let things happens.

So I’m still trying to find out what is that mysterious lack of BASIC customisation as you call it… Because Nothing OS is by default more customisable than most other Android skins (Pixel especially). Apart from quite terrible lock screen but then again if you spend hours and hours and hours looking at the locked screen you have some bigger issues to work on…

Basic customisations i mentioned are double tap to sleep, adjusting clock size,changing clock colour as per wallpaper,live wallpapers,keeping multiple wallpapers ,how much devices are connected with my hotspot in notification panel so that I don’t need to go to everytime settings,network, hotspot and then how much connected devices are connected with device , percentage while adjusting volume for precise control and for your better understanding of i had posted this
Just leave it I am not sure why nothing needs a community for only issues to report rather than posting users suggests on but to keep the phone whatever nothing offers like in future even they removed every features currently available we have to enjoy idk how to do that
But overall I can tell that i am satisfied with camera, smoothness and other things of glyph for 4 month research as per my pov except some missing features
