Ich bin sehr enttäuscht von dem nichts -Update 4.0 ..Google Android 16 mit vielen Funktionen veröffentlicht, und wir haben nichts mehr ... während andere Marken ihre Geräte mit der Sperrbildschirmanpassung und anderen Elementen spezieller machen…

Would’ve been great to have it here too IMHO.

Jovey I thought there was a Linux terminal in developer options, let me check again.

edit: yeah, it crashes when trying to load the VM.

The point of it is to use it in desktop mode, with external displays, as a unified experience on all devices (so not just Samsung DeX and similar implementations).

Won’t happen because Nothing took the scummy route and chose to save about $0.00 (yes, zero) and opt for USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.0 or better.

CMF1_hacker Oh yeah, just updated to the Beta and it is there! But, same issue here. Just gives a “Non-protected Vms are not supported on this device” error.

But the fact that the option is there is a good start! Hopefully the issue will be resolved later?

Either way yeah you guys are right it does have Terminal support, it’s just broken atm. Hopefully they fix it in the later Beta updates!

interestingly, these seems to be q Qualcomm issue rather than a NTL implementation issue and it could be corrected with a OTA update.

So my question is why they do that ? What’s the point ? Why this choice ?

Maybe like that they don’t have to develop or adapt the new desktop mode ?

Maybe it’s to add some features on the next flagship saying “wee listen, here are the ALL NEW usb 3.0” ?

If the economy is really kind of zero, then what can be the explanation knowing that they knew very well that (some) consumers would find it disappointing.

No USB 3.0 or higher = no desktop mode.

All Nothing phones are stuck 25 years ago with USB 2.0.

Yes, but you can’t really do much on a small screen. It is intended to use with external display and peripherals.

Is how the UI look really that important in your life? Is the overall quality of your life going to get better because of a different UI? If yes - you seriously have MANY other options, and you are not forced to stay with Nothing against your will 🤷‍♂️

Anonymous931 Listen, I chose Nothing for its processor thermal management system. The phone is cool, everything is fine, but just one thing — a simple thing. It’s not hard for devs, just give different colors in theme so that the icons or status bar look different. Just color, nothing else. And put AI in the gallery like Samsung or other brands did. And I can’t insult a person whose life is in black & white lonely bot; means already half dead.

@CMF1_hacker Access to the playground can be given as any x.1 or x.5 updates , if not they could have announced it 1 or 2 months later , why they’ve launced simultaneous to the major update , so that they can coverup all this shii… Imagine this in the Nothing Discussion Meeting “ Sir , should we add better features to the OS ” . : No man , there are some foolish people ,who will accept this as a major update , with one access to a website based widget creator. NasarFoysol you seem angry and I feel sorry for you. I’m not always complementary and really test everything … see my CMFW3P review … I gave it a score of 4/10 and they took away the second hand on my favourite watch face because of it.

The NP3 runs smoothly and I’m happy with the updates. The modes widget is stellar. I can’t wait to play with Playground and start designing sharing some “apps.”

I’m sorry you didn’t receive your desired new battery icon.

Shaurya now, this is one thing I realise dislike.

I love the flashing red square light on the rear of the NP3. And that red accent is stellar, i.e. the Gallery icon.

NasarFoysol Buying a brand that say we are Minimalism ! And then… complain because there is no “maximalism”. People are crazy.

And more, you have to think not only about yourself. Because your own “just one thing, a simple things” is not the same for every person. And if you add-up everyone “just one little thing”, then it’s… everything. And you bought Nothing, not everything!

But you can’t draw if there is no colourful battery icon in the top right corner 🥺 It’s not possible to do anything at all in the gallery with this current m🤢n🤢chr🤢matic icon!

Edit: F’kin’ hell, and here I am removing all possible icons unless I really need them, I don’t even have that “problematic” % in the top right until I pull the panel down 😂

Less is more as long as it’s super-functional and easy to use, well for me at least (which is why I like Nothing OS so much), but then some people really want everything spammed everywhere; and to be iOS 26, it must be like iOS 26, that’s the most important part!!1 🤩🤩 dYnAmIc IsLaNd 🤩🤩

Can Nothing OS be improved? Absolutely, it’s far from being perfect. Is improvement turning it into a Clown OS with form over function? Absolutely not. And even then, if one wants all that so badly, just root + Magisk and go crazy, it’s not like there is no freedom to do it on their own if they really want that…
