🎨 Design
The Nothing Phone (4a) series builds on the much-loved (a) series design – futuristic, industrial and robotic. The transparent body brings together a central camera, the iconic red Recording Light and the new Glyph Bar. It’s simple and functional. Below, the transparent glass reveals the inner workings of the device for a glimpse at elements like the battery enclosure.
It’s also backed by IP64 protection and submersion support for up to 25 cm for 20 minutes.
💡 Glyph Bar
Phone (4a) introduces a new Glyph Bar with 63 mini LEDs spread out over 6 square light zones. Each square is individually controlled for uniform illumination at up to 3500 nits. Glyph Bar is 40% brighter than the previous Glyph Interface. All while using all new tech to ensure zero light leakage, no yellow edges and smooth diffusion for clear notifications in bright sunlight.
The Glyph Bar remains capable for everyday tasks like operating as a soft fill light for photos or videos. Smarter notifications come to life with progress-based cues for calls, messages, charging, timers and more. Custom light sequences for contacts and notifications, paired with Nothing’s signature sounds, turn essential notifications into expressive, playful patterns—all while reducing screen distractions.
📸 Camera
With a best in class camera system, Phone (4a) brings in a 50 MP 3.5x OIS periscope camera in addition to the 50 MP OIS main sensor, an ultra wide lens and a 32 MP wide angle selfie camera. With the new system, you can capture detail at anywhere between 0.6x to 70x zoom.
Powered by TrueLens Engine 4, Phone (4a) is on the cutting edge for AI powered computational photography. Ultra XDR Photos and Motion Photos elevate highlights and shadows for the most natural contrast – and, for the first time, Ultra XDR photos can be shared directly on Instagram.
We are redesigning the camera experience for Phone (4a) with new expert-designed camera presets and more finely adjustable professional settings, plus our built in AI Photo Eraser that lets you erase anything you don’t want in your image. All of this is able to be accessories with seven new Nothing Watermarks to make each image your own.

The Nothing Phone (4a) is powered by the latest Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, paired with LPDDR4x and UFS 3.1, it achieves 147% faster read speeds and 380% faster write speeds than UFS 2.2. With All of this works together to ensure smoother app launches, faster installs, and seamless multitasking.
🔋 Battery
The Nothing Phone (4a) series is powered by a 5080 mAh battery, supporting up to 17 hours of mixed use for music, video, gaming, and messaging. Rapid 50W Fast Charging refills the battery to 60% in just 30 minutes for when you need a quick top up.
📱 Display
The Nothing Phone (4a) features a 6.78” AMOLED panel with a peak HDR brightness of 4500 nits and 1600 nits under normal use. This allows for content to remain clear even under direct sunlight while Ultra HDR photos and videos shine with brilliant highlights and deep AMOLED blacks.
That same display is smooth as ever with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a 2500Hz touch sampling. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, twice as scratch-resistant as previous-generation cover glass, and survives a 1-meter drop, letting users place the phone face down without worry and fully enjoy the transparent design and Glyph Bar.

For the Phone (4a) series, the first major update (NOS 4.1) introduces a more vibrant, customisable lock screen, two relaxation-focused widgets, upgraded Live Notifications across the screens and Glyph Interface, and an all-new Voice-to-Text AI that naturally transcribes and edits your voice into emails, articles, or any other tone instantly. Polished animations, frame-interpolated transitions, and faster app launches make every swipe and interaction effortless and highly intuitive. NOS 4.1 builds on Nothing OS 4 with a smarter, smoother, and more personal experience that keeps you informed, relaxed, and fully in control.
Nothing’s Essential AI tools go beyond being an assistant—it prioritises what truly matters, helping your life flow naturally, simply, and creatively. With a tap or long press of the Essential Key, capture photos, record your screen, or capture voice instantly, all stored in Essential Space, an AI-powered library that organises notes, ideas, and inspiration. For the first time on the (4a) series, Essential Space supports cloud access, enabling seamless cross-platform use across phones, desktops, laptops, watches, and more.
Finding anything is effortless with Essential Search—type a keyword, and instantly access apps, photos, messages, or answers, without opening multiple apps. Essential Memory learns from your activity, connecting Essential Space and Essential Search to deliver highly personalised results based on your saved Memories.
