ā ļø Lately, a lot of us have been wondering about the next update ā and it feels like the company has gone radio silent. Thought itās a good time to raise this here.
Just a small post from someone who really likes Nothing ā but is also a little bit frustrated.
One of the things I liked most about this brand from the beginning was the community feeling.
Not just another huge company that feels distant from its users, but something that actually tries to listen. There are even initiatives like the Community Board Observer that are supposed to represent the community to the company.
But sometimes in practice⦠it feels a bit different.
There are dozens of posts here asking pretty simple questions:
When is the next update coming? Whatās the status of a feature? What about a known bug?
For example: when can we roughly expect Nothing OS 4.1?
Not an exact date, not a promise ā sometimes not even a simple āweāre working on itā.
Just⦠silence. š
Which is a bit funny, because this community is full of people who genuinely want to be involved.
People read changelogs, test betas, report bugs, and spend time writing feedback.
But sometimes it feels like weāre mostly talking to each otherā¦
while the company itself is in Nothing mode.
Technical support can sometimes feel a bit similar ā like chatting with an AI.
Just⦠not one of the impressive ones š
The same questions repeated again, generic solutions we already tried, and sometimes even suggestions to send the phone in for warranty ā even when the issue is clearly a software bug.
And thatās a shame, because the community itself is actually really strong.
People help each other, investigate bugs, suggest ideas, and wait for updates ā sometimes it feels like weāre even more invested than the company.
Of course, not everything can be shared publicly, and software development doesnāt always follow a perfect schedule.
But sometimes even a small message from the team could save dozens of speculation posts.
So maybe just a small request:
We donāt need trade secrets or a full roadmap.
Sometimes even a short reply like:
āWeāre still working on itā
or
āThe update is expected around month Xā
can go a long way.
Because if thereās already such an engaged community here ā
it would be a shame to leave it in 'āNothingā'š
