I tried to use 5ber card which is physical, programmable esim card, but the 5ber app said that this phone is not supported 🙁 It is really annoying that Nothing has no esim & does not support function of program esim… For instance my old OnePlus 7 doesn’t have esim, but there is no problem with supporting 5ber physical esim… I reported this problem to both 5ber and Nothing since I dont know on which side there is lack of support. I bet it is rather Nothing issue..

Rob ⚡️ changed the title to 5ber eSIM Support - Phone (2) .

Yeah. I would rather see native support for eSim. Lack of support for eSim was the biggest factor in my decision making to see if I should buy NP2 or not. Due to that fact I decided to hold on my purchase and it’s been my luck, as just 2 days later they announced NP2a coming. If they price it right I will not mind that and go retro style, to physical SIM again. My Pixel 6a support it but I already moved my number to physical SIM ahead of release date, just in case if they get everything else right. Hopefully they won’t omit that option from the spec list on NP3 and potentially NP3a.

Thanks for sharing your experiences regarding physical eSIM functionality with our phones. I wanted to reach out to let you know our team is actively exploring how we can support the physical eSIM cards mentioned in this thread. I will follow up in March to keep you updated on our progress.

I also really want to use 5ber programmable esim on my NP(2), it is really convenient if we can have the esim function when we need to travel to other countries frequently. Hope the function could be built up in the next upgrade.

It is sad that nothing nor 5ber don’t specifiy where is exactly the issue and when this would be resolved… 😥😥😥

I was very surprised that NP2 does not support 5ber. if Nothing thinks it’s unsafe for some reason they should be given the opportunity to decide. phone users and not put phone owners in a situation where they are wondering whether to go back to Oppo or OnePlus.

I sent official question to Nothing support … let’s see ;-)
