The Nothing Phone 2 still lacks 6GHz Wi-Fi scanning and hotspot support in India even though the Indian regulatory authorities have delicensed the 6GHz band, while the global variant has full support.
Samsung has already unlocked 6GHz support with One UI 8.5, and with One UI 9 Beta, they’ve also enabled 6GHz hotspot functionality in India. BBK devices (OnePlus.) have also started rolling out 6GHz support in India (hotspot support is still pending but expected soon).
It appears that the Nothing team has hardcoded the removal of 6GHz support in the firmware. This is why all device info apps show that the 6GHz band is not supported. However, before Nothing OS 3.0, the phone could detect and display 6GHz band support in various apps like Wi-Fi Man.
I have already submitted multiple feedbacks and 4+ complaints over the past 6 months. During this period, the phone has received 3 major updates, but none of them have restored 6GHz support.
I believe the Nothing team might have forgot this. Could you please help remind them about this issue
Thanks!
Note: Hardware is there, Locked via software
I’m also attaching Nothing OS 2 (Android 13) vs Nothing OS 4.1 (Android 16)

This issue is, it’s also locked on the Nothing Phone (3) and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro. I urge other users to report this as well. I am raising this request because the Nothing Phone 2 is soon reaching its End of Life (EOL).
