We want better haptics implementation asap.

All other brands phone have better haptics implementation and whenever I use their phones I feel like why Nothing is not doing something for this.

Nothing team lets have a best haptics implementation in the market 🔥. People should talk how well Nothing has implemented haptics. This is the best haptics feedback I have experienced till now. 🔥 🔥 🔥

Rob ⚡️ changed the title to Nothing OS - Haptics Improvements .

Keyboard taps haptics are little better.

Haptics are implemented at places like volume slider brightness slider. Also want to add the oxygenOS brightness sliders has a force sensitive increment decrement like when ever you swipe with more force it increases more with less it increases less. I hope i was able to make you understand.

Please provide haptics intensity also to phone 2.

I want to ask whether the current haptics is at full strength like if there was a intensity bar would it be full or less than full.

I would suggest you guys to use oneplus devices that has currently the best haptics implemented OS.

I haven’t used other brands devices much but yes the time I use them I constantly thinks wow the haptics. Whenever their message comes or call comes I can feel the vibration even when the phone is at a distance on the bed but np2’s vibration is very low i would say.

    That all i would say.

Rob ⚡️ well i was oneplus 8t user currently using phone 2 and my old device haptic were top notch with better implementation here is some suggestions

1.Haptic when u change camera mode like photo to video portrait etc.

2.haptic when u click on quick Settings toggle, brightness slider volume slider etc

      3.Recent menu app switch haptics

4.Most important ability to adjust haptic intensity.

      Rob ⚡️

Agree with the haptic feedback, same feeling even I wrote in my post. But also there should be improvement on Call’s in speaker mode. (the volume is very low, when we are in calls using speaker mode even when the call, system and other volume bar is full).

Rather than haptics we want to focus now on heating issue that some of the phone user facing after the installation of April update. Also it will showing unnecessary battery draining . Please show some response.

I too feel, haptics is one thing that nothing phones really miss given NP1/2 pits against the contemporary flagships of other brands. Low end phone of Samsung which I was using before has better haptics than NP2.

I had similar feelings as OP when I hold my friends OnePlus 12.

I really hope nothing focuses on this as well in coming updates.

I concor with everyone here that Nothing needs better implementation of haptic feedback especially now that the device is officially on Android 14.

I have requested the Nothing team through feedback form that there needs to be a provision wherein users are free to adjust the strength of the haptics instead of the current one. Given the low intensity, I tend to miss a lot of calls when the phone is on vibrate mode due to low haptic strength during office hours leading to lot of inconvenience. I know Nothing had implemented this feature in NOS 2.5.3 but they removed it in 2.5.3.a.

I don’t know if this was a malicious attempt to force users to purchase newer phones so as to jack up the sales. If that is the case, I am sure Nothing is leaving a sour taste for phone 1 users, for, they won’t be willing to stick to Nothing brand due to such dubious practices.

I hope Nothing is looking into long term vision instead of looking for immediate gains.

RajeevKumar_vNXavrqAJ7 First I’d like to say I don’t own my Nothing Phone (2) anymore, but I’m actually interested in buying one again and came here to do some research about this vibration noise issue.

What has been mentioned by @sagarsahani has been one of the very few things which really disappointed me about the phone. Even when I disabled typing audio and thus only vibration enabled, the haptic engine made noises so loud, it sounded as if I had audio feedback enabled. It’s hard to explain, especially since English isn’t my native language, but it was fairly annoying and distracting. I eventually got around with it by actually increasing the vibration duration within the Gboard settings - it made the haptic sounds go away, but vibration was too annoying now.

Basically I had the the choice between semi decent typing haptics and annoying noises or too long/strong haptics and silence. I have two other phones and haptics are silent there, you just feel the vibration and don’t hear it. On the Nothing Phone (2) it was always audible.

Edit: I actually couldn’t resist and have bought a Phone (2) just two days ago. The typing noise I mentioned is also present on the newly bought device using the latest 2.5.6 software update. I have only haptic feedback for Gboard enabled and that feedback is very week, yet the haptic engine seems to be very audible. In comparison my Galaxy Fold 4 with the same settings is essentially silent and provides a decent amount of haptic feedback.

Coldpaw What is your option on Call’s and SMS vibration with and without case in NP2

EDIT: It’s June 18, 2024, and there’s still no improvement in the haptics. Whether I’m in a noisy place with sound mode on or in a very quiet workplace with vibrate mode on, I can’t even feel my phone calls in my pocket or on my desk.
