I realized that animations on Nothing OS are a little too fast, which makes them look kinda choppy or not smooth. So I tried making them slower, and trust me, it looks way better, everything feels smoother. It seems like Nothing did a good job with the animations themselves, but they just made them too fast (In my opinion).

If you wanna try it:

Go to Settings > About Phone and tap Build Number 7 times to unlock Developer Options.
Open Settings > System > Developer Options.
Scroll down to Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale, and Animator Duration Scale.
Change them from 1x to 1.5x, trust me, it makes a difference.

Try it and see if it feels smoother for you!

“Smart Dynamic Wallpapers That Change Automatically Based on Time of Day”

My suggestion is that the Nothing team develop a dynamic feature where you can select three background wallpapers that follow your circadian rhythm and time zone. A background image for each time of day, that is, morning, afternoon, and evening. This way, without you having to manually change your wallpaper, the phone will do it automatically for you. In the morning when you wake up, you might want a warmer image (e.g., red/orange/yellow), and as it transitions into the day, you might prefer a lighter and sleeker background. Finally, in the evening, the phone will automatically activate night mode, and your darker background image will appear. These are just examples; you would of course be able to set which images should appear and at what times day and night mode should take place. I think Nothing’s system should be able to automate both day and night mode as well as these wallpapers, so you don’t have to go into settings multiple times a day to choose a new background and mode. It would be a winning concept. In the customization menu, this feature should be available to activate, and you would see three empty slots where you can press and add the wallpapers you want to appear.

I’m back with some exciting widget ideas that I think would be absolutely awesome on the Nothing OS!

Basketball Game

First things first, we all love the snake game, right? Well, guess what? There’s another fun game that’s a basketball game. It’s super easy to play and super fun. Here’s how it works: you’ll start when the character is dribbling the ball, as you tap on the screen, an angle will appear, showing you where to shoot. But here’s the catch: the basket doesn’t stay still. It moves up and down, so you’ll have to be quick on your feet. One basket counts as one point!
Hangar Widget

So, lately I’ve been forgetting things, and why not create a widget that lets you hang out your important thoughts, just like your clothes on a hanger? And there it is , this widget lets you hang your important thoughts that are necessary, and it helps you remember a lot of things, kind of like notes but fun!
Memories Widget

I love visiting my past memories but often would not get the right consequences to do it, so there’s this widget that shows your photos and the place you took them with the year and month that just makes the user happy and gives an aww feeling to relive that moment again!
Battery Widget

I personally don’t like the battery widget on the nothing os , so I redesigned it. This widget shows you battery percentage and the level of your battery in 3 bars that is visually appealing and mind-blowing to watch!
Screen Time

The screen time widget is a bit scary IMO, and here’s a refreshed look. The first one is similar to a bar graph but with some tweaks that suit well with the nothing DNA and the second one is inspired by Blloc and I think it is a bit too minimal. And at the end of the day, both are good though!
Nothing X Extras

So, I was scrolling through the nothing tech page and saw these texts that say “ boom” and “sshh.” So, I thought, “Why not make them as a widget and give them functionality?” So, there they are: the boom widget is used to increase your bass, and the sshh widget could be used for noise control!
Typometer

I know that the Gen Z loves to type fast, but couldn’t keep track of it. To solve this, here’s the typometer widget that lets you calculate how fast you type!
Music Player

There is no music player that is long, so I designed a minimal one that looks cool. You can change the songs by just swiping over the album cover, that is fun and interesting to use!

I’ve had the CMF phone/watch pro 2 combo since November of 2024 and I’ve been in love since then (discovered I can use the thumbscrew to hold a string charm with my tamagotchi on it ) but a lot of the watch faces don’t have as many widgets as I usually have, are lacking animation, and lacking color. Prior to my switch to CMF I had a Samsung Galaxy watch, and one of my favorite things on it was an app that had a bunch of watch faces made by a community using an easy to use creator tool, I even made a few! I feel with the community creation oriented CMF brand this is a natural next step when it comes to watch faces, and maybe even watch apps.

A few other suggestions I have

Orientation switch for CMF watch, I wear my watch on my left hand, and having the dial directly where my wrist bends causes a lot of accidental input

A way to send texts using the built in microphone, a lot of times I’m walking or doing something else, and then I’ll remember I needed to text someone. Instead of having to bring out your whole phone, an app to text while connected to a phone would be amazing

A way to add reminders on the watch (again, via that microphone) and maybe a points system for the reminders to assist with motivation (maybe unlock components for custom watch faces?)

Having the assistant feature on the watch, use microphone input and speaker output also on the watch

And maybe a version of the snake game for CMF watch and nothing watch? Would be great when waiting in line or waiting for the train

I have plenty more suggestions for nothing widgets and even accessories for CMF and design ideas for nothing phone, I’m a disabled adult living in America, so I don’t have much to do, the community aspect of Nothing has given me a joy I haven’t felt since I was a teen in the local convention scene, I hope everyone reading this has a nice day thank you!

Hello friends! Back with more watch suggestions, including ideas for the next CMF watch!

Firstly, id like to take note of the connection issues with CMF watch, and propose an easy fix, a lock screen widget, just a little button with an icon, and when you press it, it reconnects CMF watch with the app.

Now let’s get into the shorter ideas

The ability to see tomorrows upcoming events in the watches calendar app
More accurate sleep tracking, sometimes I sleep and it says I got two hours when I know that is not the case
ECG functionality in a future CMF/nothing watch
Merge nothing watch and CMF app, just remove some features from CMF watch and make the crown a screw for accessories (small radio antennae for listening to the radio for Bluetooth headphones? Emphasises the gadget aesthetic of CMF that I love so much)(sidenote: NFC crown that can be sold separately? Makes up for lack of NFC on CMF phone as well)
Color themes other than black white and red, but keep the nice dot matrix vibe, also take note of this for nothing widgets

I would realy like to see a animation when you click on the mobile data or wifi key in the qouick settings, similar to the animation when you click on the screen record function.
A more fancy animation when you open the phone, even samsung had a better one befor nothing exststed
process bars in dot style again
animation when you open or close the camera on the look screen
a nothing style icon generator.
A nothing telephone, adress book, sms app
at the moment, we have no option to chose soundcards or regulate the volium for specific apps
Own Clock app that is able to sett your bedtime dynamically on the data of you nothing or cmf watch
own calendar app, in it you can set a timer for events

When layout is 5×5 the widgets alignment gets disturbed and it has uneven spacing and even uneven alignment. This is very disappointing that we can’t get out widgets aligned properly. As you can clearly see from the screenshot how uncomforting it looks.
We should have icon size option.
We should have option to minimise full screen calling screen.
We should have more camera stabilization. The Camera is not stable as well as the Camera app. It stutters, feel slow, unresponsive and sometimes it frame drops my Video. Has ruined every single video I have shoot from this device. Due to which I have completely stopped using camera on this device. No doubt the lens are awesome and they take good pictures and videos. The problem is app and stabilization.

Gallery Picture-in-Picture (PiP) Enhancements

Zoom in PiP: Add an option to zoom in or out when maximizing Picture-in-Picture mode. The zoom function should automatically turn off when the user interacts with anything outside the PiP.

Suggestions for Nothing OS (from a non-user)

To be upfront I am not a Nothing Phone user nor have I ever been. If the suggestions should only come from a Nothing Phone user, please feel free to ignore or delete this post. I’ll post the same again when I get one.
So I’m currently using a Poco phone in India and have grown tired of the bloatware and the ads. While I don’t yet own a Nothing Phone, I’ve observed some features I’d love to see in the Nothing OS based on my experiences with other devices. I’ve confirmed that some of these features (like app lock and app cloning) are already available in Nothing OS. If any suggestions are already implemented, feel free to ignore them.

High-Value Features I Missed

Alternative Navigation Gestures (Realme Phone)
I miss the swipe-from-below gesture navigation (swipe up from the bottom-left for back, bottom-right for recent apps) that was removed in an update from the same Realme phone. The default gestures often conflict with open apps, so I still prefer using navigation buttons. Samsung offers something similar via Good Lock.

Would Be Nice to Have

Advanced Battery Stats
A battery stats feature similar to FK Kernel Manager’s, showing active and idle drain, among other detailed metrics. An app that provides this functionality would also be fine too in its place.
Additional Icon Pack
Offer an alternative icon pack with more color and design, while still aligning with the Nothing design language, for users who don’t prefer monochrome icons.
Nothing Dialer App with Call Recording
Include call recording support in the Nothing Dialer for countries where it’s legal. Google Phone supports it but it makes an announcement which is not required in countries like India.

Final Thoughts

I appreciate the effort that Nothing is putting into creating a clean, user-friendly Android experience. Clean software is still rare in the Android world, and we need more OEMs that focus on empowering user choice and promoting mental peace. Thank You.

The new OS 3.0 has made excellent changes and I think this may add more towards the OS customisation as well as user experience. They are:

Always on Display: if we introduce more types of clocks and alignment towards AOD the user can decide which one suites them.
Notification panel: I think most of them use two icons for mobile data as well as wifi then it’s better to show seperate in pop up window.
Nothing Gallery App 2.0: One of the best decision made by nothing on the basis of feedback was the introduction of Gallery App, but still there are certain things needs to be added for editing and stuff we still need to rely on other App. If you can add presets and adjustment in App itself it would have been great.
Advanced Text Capture : As we use certain apps there are some app where we are not able to select text . If you can implement use AI like what Samsung’s One UI then we would be able to capture text from screenshot too.
Introduction of Dialer App and contacts: If nothing can bring new dialer and contact app it would be great. The increase of customisation and Animation such as full screen photo etc which we use to see in iOS would be great.

These are some of my suggestion which would be great if we add in next R&D.

I want parallel Animation like oos15 , hyper os2 and other ui , no doubt nothing os animation is smooth but oos 15 animation are more smoother

Pitch/pure black theme
New fingerprint icon , animation is cool
Phone 2a display looks trash in low brightness please fix it
I am waiting inbuilt editor for nothing gallery
Add password for hidden apps
Implement haptics in overall ui
Fix camera lag, and improve
Please give block and device limit option in hotspot

I found nothing bad with CMF phone 1 but I think something is missing. For example

We do not have options to change finger print animations.
We do not have access of changing fonts from apps.
Additionally, we have a security weakness. Nowadays, most phones have a secure system, and on many of them, users need to input their password to shut down or restart the phone from the lock screen. However, we do not have that feature.

I recently came across an interesting magisk module AutoBoot link on GitHub, which allows you to turn on your device when you connect the charger, even if it was turned off (similar to the iPhone). This is purely a software feature, and can be added via a system update and Boot image modification.

I think it could be useful, especially in emergency situations when you need to quickly turn on your device and the battery is low.

Why not add this feature to the experimental features section?

I think I’m late to ask for this but is it somehow possible to Integrate Glyph Progress for Phone (1) by using the Charging Meter Led (Since they can show charging progress, maybe they can also be utilised for Glyph Progress).

As software updates come to an end for phone (1), an update that could make that happen would be really cool

what are your thoughts on this
