Why aren’t you able to release the update to all devices at once like All other Brands does? I mean Nothing OS isn’t even a Heavy OS packed with lot Features and Customisation options like One UI, Oxygen OS, Funtouch OS, Hyper OS etc… it doesn’t even have most of the AI features yet, and also the Gallery app doesn’t even provide Basic editing options, we have to use Google Photos or other editing softwares to do that. And still while All those companies manage to release their updates to Most of their devices that supports that update at once, the Nothing OS 3.0 that came out in December 18 2024 isn’t available in all of your phones yet. First you Released it on Phone 2a and Phone 2, and now after almost a month, in Phone 2a plus. And we don’t even know When it will Come out for CMF Phone 1 and the Original Phone 1. If it takes time for the lower end phones, then just make it late for All the phones, and try to Release the Update for All devices at once. Atleast you can say, ‘Late but Latest’. And it will give out a Better impression for the Company too rather than saying that We can only Release it for 1 or 2 phones at a time.

Finally
we got stable 2a+ update before gta 6
tyaguh_8 I believe it’s because it’s continuous use (based on the screenshot: 100% at 11am, 3% at 10:44pm, 9.5 hours SoT = only around 2 hours of screen off time). I’ve noticed that screen off time takes a lot of the battery. I’ve had it die in 9.5h SoT continously but die in 5h SoT if my use has hour-long gaps. It sometimes even eats 30% when I sleep.
I have experienced Over exposure during video calls in WhatsApp. Have anyone been experiencing it?

Now that we are officially into December - I wonder - will the NOS 3 beta finally drop for the:
- 2a Plus
- CMF Phone 1
- Phone 1
soon? or will there actually be no more beta and it will be released as the final stable build for these devices.
While I do understand the rationale of targetting a large user base - it also seems kinda ironic when launching a ‘community’ edition device with a 2a plus base that was so in demand, that it’s one of the last to receive the update. More ironic given that the CE edition in Japan is actually the normal 2a thus they can update to NOS 3 and test the beta. go figure.
After the first impression, I feel that the battery life has improved a bit.
I hope this roll out will improve the user experience because the stutters and minor lags in the 2a plus is quite disheartening. I expect a seamless experience at this price point.and also the proximity sensor doesn’t work properly.
Have same problem.
On the 2(a) plus, the computer processing and the amount of it on selfies is just terrible. With the selfie enhancement feature turned off, the photos look like they were taken on a very budget smartphone with a bunch of filters from FaceApp. It’s easier to take a screenshot of the screen during the shoot.
I don’t have the opportunity to compare with the basic 2(a), but compared to the Nothing 1, the difference is colossal.
I’m sure this is a software issue. I think we’re not the only ones who have encountered this problem, and the Nothing team is aware of it. I’m really hoping for a fix in the upcoming updates.
Severe concerns with the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Front Camera
For context, I have moved from the Phone (2a) to the Plus version of this series. My main bone to pick with Nothing is, how is a more premium series of a phone worse than the original one. Like something is seriously lacking in the Phone (2a) Plus. I don’t know about others but I can talk for myself when I say that as a customer I can’t help but feel scammed. Right off the box the UI on the Phone (2a) Plus is more glitchy than the Phone (2a). For those who are wondering, you really cannot tell the difference between the two phones in terms of use. Imo the Phone (2a) feels better to use. I don’t even want to talk about the camera on the Phone (2a) Plus, I personally hate opening the camera app itself. As much as I am a fan of the brand and what they are doing in the market, I lost my cool as soon as I clicked my first few pictures on the phone. Just pathetic. Progressively my experience with the camera only got worse.
Selfies started to look like some kind of painting. I like the way my face looks, why is there a need to process the photo post click to make me look like something out of an animation. When I went to the service center to rectify this, I showed a side by side comparison of pictures from the Phone (2a) Plus and the Phone (2a). There was a world of difference in skin tone, clarity and even focus. A 32MP front camera was doing better than the brand new 50MP camera. If you think the back camera is alright, I’m sorry to tell you, it’s worse. Random color corrections on the face, some kind of weird pixellation issues.
The Phone (2a) Plus struggles with basic focus on the front camera, the phone needs to be at a certain distance while taking a selfie to even get a decent picture without focus issues. And even if the focus is right, the processing as I mentioned earlier makes faces look horrible.
After a painstaking wait of 4 hours at the service center, which included rebooting (factory reset and OS Updating) my phone, nothing changed, so I received a new piece even after me telling them that I was sure it wasn’t a software issue but an issue with the hardware. Now I have a new Phone (2a) Plus piece which is just as bad on the camera and UI side.
The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus had me wishing I had never upgraded within the first week of usage itself. Again there are cheaper phones in the market that fulfill the basic criteria of clicking decent pictures.
I made a personal choice last year to sacrifice performance on my previous phone for aesthetic appeal on the Phone (2a) first and then the Phone (2a) Plus later. But now after using the Phone (2a) Plus I am frantically trying to re-sell and get this phone out of my hand.
I understand the arguments about mid range phones and I probably would never have known the difference between the two if I hadn’t used the Phone (2a) first. Would have probably thought, wow the camera is just that bad (maybe the Phone (2a) also has a bad camera).
I have raised multiple concerns on the community page and I have seen many other users with similar issues and no re-assuring answers for the same.
Also personally writing this as a service to those who are looking to upgrade to the Phone (2a) Plus during the recent sales. Please don’t. They’re almost similar in prices 3-4k difference, but compared to the Phone (2a), the Phone (2a) Plus is a disappointingly bad phone in terms of camera experience.
Deepakpurohit funny enough when they talk about the chip inside np2a saying that they released the update faster, what of the np2a+ that has a better mideatek chipset???
