  • Dear Nothing Community Team.

I’m writing to share a couple of feature suggestions that I believe would significantly enhance the user experience for photography enthusiasts on Nothing devices.

    1. Portrait Lighting Effects in Portrait Mode.

One feature I’d love to see introduced is Portrait Lighting effects in Portrait mode. This allows users to apply studio-quality lighting to Portrait shots for a more creative and professional result. Here are a few lighting effects that could be considered:

i)Studio Light – Brightens facial features for a clean, natural look.

ii)Contour Light – Adds depth with dramatic, directional lighting.

iii)Stage Light – Isolates the subject by placing them in a spotlight with a black background.

iv)Stage Light Mono – Same as Stage Light but in black and white.

v)High-Key Light Mono – Greyscale subject on a white background for a modern, artistic effect.

Users could swipe through these effects in real-time while capturing photos in Portrait mode, and also have the option to switch between them in post-processing from the Photos/Gallery app.

    2. Advanced Editing Tools in the Native Gallery App.

In addition, I’d love to see more robust editing capabilities within the Nothing Gallery app. Right now, it’s a bit limited when it comes to enhancing photos directly after capture. Adding features such as:

    Brightness, contrast, and saturation sliders

    Filters and fine-tuning options

    Light and shadow adjustments

    Crop, rotate, and perspective tools

Portrait Lighting adjustments (as mentioned above)

…would allow users to do more without relying on third-party apps and enhance the seamless experience Nothing is known for.

I truly appreciate the direction Nothing is taking with both hardware and software, and I’m excited to see what new innovations come next. I hope you’ll consider these suggestions in a future update, as they would greatly improve the camera and editing experience for many users like myself.
