  • In RAM Booster - Explained

    I’ve noticed a difference when I’ve turned the ram booster on on my Phone 2, but it was a rather negative one:

    Device started stuttering, after clicking the volume button I had to wait for 3-5 seconds for the slider to pop-up on the screen, lock screen would become transparent and I was able to see my home screen icons before unlocking the phone and many other issues in the same manner…

    Sorry, but in it’s current state this feature makes your phone worse, there should be a better governor of which apps can go to the (much slower) phone memory instead of ram, and default system apps shouldn’t be on that list!

    At first I’ve thought that it’s going to be Nothing Ear (3), but going very meta, it may be a product that will work with Nothing Ear (2) (represented by the beetle).

    The title “play date” suggests that these products will somehow work together instead of replacing one another, (like some people think this picture represents the frog jumping over the beetle.)

    This widget used to be able to record calls, but I think Nothing didn’t realize that for some regions call recording software is illegal to distribute and use (whole of EU f.e.) so they have disabled it, at least that’s my understanding.

      I really want to believe that we’re going to get a big update for Phone (2), fixing all bugs and bringing new features exclusive to this device but I don’t think they wouldn’t tease it long before launch.

      Dear Nothing team,

      Please take into consideration doubling or tripling the effort to keep your devices up-to-date in terms of at least security updates.

      We as fans know that you are doing your best, but when the big competition can update their flagship devices regularly (S24 series has recently got March security patch on March 1st!) it looks like even though you have only three phones released you don’t really have it worked out in which order to release updates.

      Releasing new features for the newest (but the cheapest device) looks bad and your flagship owners are understandably mad (and January security patch in the middle of March for NP2 is a not-so funny joke).

      Especially after Nothing Chats fiasco, you should be on your toes to prove to people that you care about the security of your OS.

      If that continues to be the case, me and many others who have switched from iOS or Google/Samsung will ditch you and choose more secure competition.

        Currently rocking my Nothing Phone 2 with a MagSafe compatible case (and waiting for QI2 to become an industry standard) but I still own some of the most memorable devices I have ever bought (NP2 is going to stay with me for a long time too).

        If I win, the Phone (2A) is going to my girlfriend, who’s iPhone is at 60% battery health and is not working that great after all the abuse it has suffered from her hands 😉

        Since Aerodactyl is a Pokemon with great hearing capabilities, I’m hoping that Nothing gives it their special touch in the audio department, IMO an equalizer would be a great addition to the NothingOS.
        Also, since it can fly and cover large distances, I’m hoping it’s going to be an entry point to the Nothing experience for many people around the globe 🙂

          Daniel Okay, checked it and it seems like the issue only happens when I’m connected to Bluetooth in my car (music streaming only, no calls functionality in my radio). When I am on a phone call and I try to make it go to the loudspeaker, the sound still only plays through the small speaker. Other than that both speakers work fine.

                Hi! A few days ago I’ve switched from iPhone 13 Pro to the NP2 and so far loving it!

                I want to use my wired headphones with my Phone 2. Does it require passive or active (built-in DAC) 3,5 mm adapter? Could you guys recommend one that has worked for you? Does anyone know if NP2 supports USB-C amplifiers?
