Look, I know it’s probably early to ask, especially since NOS 3 just went to general release a couple of weeks now after beta. But I’m can’t help but wonder if NOS 4 will come early this year (possibly middle of the year).

With Google finalizing Android 16 for general release as soon as April/May, which is a big change from the typical annual release timeline that other versions have followed, could it be possible to expect NOS 4 to follow suit close after? Nothing are typically on the ball with new android versions after release.

I don’t think it will be a feature based update, more system updates/improvements, but keen to get other peoples thoughts on the topic.

@“aarond203” #p131981 The first release of NOS 3.5 should occur before NOS-4 is released.

gagan010602 I would agree with you, that has been the case before as there were some incremental changes/patches with those updates, but since NOS 2 came, all changes after were based on the same OS version (Android 14) and it had the time to cover those incremental changes before the next OS version release, in this case 2.5 came about 4-6 months after the initial release of NOS 2.

Personally, I’m not sure NOS 3 will get the same treatment, purely because of the fact Android 16 will be available sooner then anticipated and I wouldn’t consider a major version change a patch (x.5) update. The OS should reflect the Android version in my opinion (NOS 4 based on Android 16, NOS 5 based on Android 17, etc.)

Maybe NOS 4 might just follow the same release window as it is currently and we may wait for a while for the update, and it can cover any patch updates like you mentioned (3.5 for example)

Most chances that only next year, it deffinetly will be NOS 3.5 with android 16.

      a month later

in my unrealistic opinion, Nos 3.5 will release second half and Nos 4 will release around january 2026. (same like NOS 3.0 )
