Will the Essential Space and Essential Key features from the Nothing Phone (3a) come to the Nothing Phone (2a) and (2)?

I’m not holding my breath and not going forward anymore with any NPx,

My Oneplus 11 which was released earlier than NP2 got features and AI features that NP2 is still begging/dream to receive (just take a look what I have received with the latest June update of OxygenOS 15 Since the great January update for my 2023 device, enough said)…

I’ll stick with NP2 till it drops dead and move on (I’m already content with my GS24U and OnePlus 8 and 11)

sheldon. it is not very good anyways.. The generated answers tend to hallucinate. In fact haven’t had one correct transcript made by essential yet. I would rather wish for the possibility of switching the buttons functionally to for example a shutter button

VikasSharma_mQsBgVPT96 essential space is so bad. At the current state the LLM hallucinate when it makes any notes. It might be fixed in the future. But at the current state is essential space not worth anything. In fact alot in the community have requested the possibility of changing the essential key button on 3a to something else, like a shutter button

NikolajS_ndergaard this has already been accomplished.

Also, it has been possible to roll out a combination of Tasker/Automation tools to facilitate ES on older phones.

I believe that the trick was to employ Tasker to detect key press 220 (IIRC).

Hey Everyone,

So as a phone(2) user, I was pretty much excited for Essential Space but unfortunately it seems like its limited to devices with Essential Key at the moment. I was just wondering when the essential space be available on older Nothing devices?

To those who would be commenting “It requires an Essential key button….” its all about the software, developer can easily customize the triggering mechanism and add a gesture support or specific button combo like the Volume up + dwn pressed simultaneously.

Looking forward to hear from the community mods and team.

We want to know the truth, will this function be on older devices, will there be camera presets, will there be other functions related to artificial intelligence. Is it really impossible to replace the button on the side by double tapping on the lid ?

Vard The UX of Essential Space is based on the new Essential Key which isn’t present on older devices. It was previously announced that it won’t be coming to older devices.

RapidZapper That’s true, of course, But still, it was made specifically for this button; other companies have functions that are triggered by shaking, double tapping, or pressing.

Vard why would you buy 3a series if you are getting that on cmf phone 1 ? Irrespective of hardware

Vard you can simulate that button press with Tasker and get it run on the CMF1 as an example.
