Dan_ie Can people use glyph lights or glyph matrix if they donāt have it in their phones? Can people use the benefits of USB 3.1 and 3.2 if they donāt have it in their phones? The answer is the same, except that the latter is significantly more important in grand scheme than the former.
If every OEMās flagship in the past couple of years can come with 3.1 (or 3.2) by default, then why Nothingās flagship canāt? The cost is not the issue because even many midrange phones have it, Motorola Edge 50 Pro as one at the higher end of the midrange spectrum would be the one (launch price was 700ā¬, currently under 300ā¬). Google Pixel 9a, Googleās budget midranger with a starting price of 550ā¬ (now 420ā¬) also has it.
The phone that people most often mention in comparison with Nothing Phone (3) is OnePlus 13, and it also has USB 3.2. Another direct competitor is the Samsung S25, it also has USB 3.2, same as a cheaper Samsung S24 FE.
If basically every existing OEM but one includes 3.1 or 3.2 in their mid and high end phones, and in every single of their flagships, do they really trying to push - for years at this point - something so unnecessary and underused that no one really needs nor uses? If that increases the cost, how are many of those phones with similar or better specs launched at a similar or even lower price than the Nothing Phone (3)? That one single OEM that doesnāt include 3.1 or 3.2 in their flaghip is, of course, Nothing. They do include glyph matrix thoughā¦
(Iām not counting here various random Cubot, Oukitel and similar ānamesā, nor did I ever try to search for their āflagshipsā, so I have zero idea what USB do they offer)
