JochieSantiago if you look historically, prices always fall with NTL, itās just that 20% is larger on a Ā£800 phone, down to Ā£640. I think in Western Europe, it isnāt quite inexpensive compared to Ā£1000 for a Pixel or an IPhone. And the specs justify the cost.
They donāt need to sell so many (250k over the lifetime of the phone to recover all R&D costs ⦠no one believes thatās at initial RRP). The 3a_lite has almost no R&D costs as itās a CMF2P and at Ā£249 it will have quite a large profit margin. In addition, theyāre probably making Ā£10-20/handset with preinstalled apps and bloatware.
At that PP, it looks great/modern and will set tons in Europe for Xmas. Much more than the CMF2P which does NOT look premium at all. (I like it but the average buyer wonāt.
Edit: it also dates the 3a/pro extensively, and will pull buyer to it by looking like a Ā£799 RRP phone at Ā£249. Itās a very smart move by NTL.
I think NTL is playing their cards perfectly.
