Every product that Nothing has released to date has been designed with its community in mind. For the first time, we will be co-creating a product with you, our most creative members, to create the ultimate version of Phone (2a).

Introducing: The Community Edition Project

Six months, four stages, one phone. Spanning hardware, wallpapers, packaging and a creative campaign, four of you will engage directly with the Nothing Team to bring your ideas to life.

You can take part in any of the stages that best suits your skills and interests. Once submissions open, upload images, video and/or other supporting media that best showcases your ideas.

When the submission periods close, voting will begin. The whole community then has the chance to show support for their favourite entries. All valid submissions will be judged by an internal Nothing panel to select the winner at each stage.

The 4 stages will inform different aspects of the final product - see how you can get involved:

📱 Stage 1 Hardware Design - March

Put your own spin on Phone (2a)’s iconic hardware. The winner will be given the opportunity to collaborate with Nothing’s London industrial design team to bring their idea to life.
🖼️ Stage 2 Wallpaper Design - May

Design a series of wallpapers to seamlessly integrate with the winning hardware design. The winning collection will ship pre-installed on (2a) Community Edition.
📦 Stage 3 Packaging Design - June

Think outside the box with a design of the packaging. This is your chance to devise a special unboxing experience that ties together the hardware and wallpaper design from stages one and two.
🎥 Stage 4 Marketing Campaign - July

Ideate and submit a creative proposal for the marketing of (2a) Community Edition. With support from Nothing’s Brand & Creative team, one of you will develop a visual identity and a bank of assets that will be used to promote the phone when it goes on sale.

When each stage opens, we will share a brief detailing all the rules, guidelines and tips to help you make a successful entry - be sure to read these carefully before submitting an idea.

The four category winners will be hosted by the Nothing Team in London to launch Community Edition later this year. The event will showcase the final product to the world, officially launching the device before it goes on sale.‎ ‎
