The things that made me appreciate the nothing ear are the intricate design of the FPCs and the ceramic driver. The FPCs are flexible and are folded together into a single circuit leaving enough space for the other components. The other thing is how compact and intricate an earphone can be. The 11mm driver though smaller than the nothing ear 1 boasts better performance in receiving and perceiving higher frequencies.
Nothing Ear Teardown
I liked the engineering of setting up the fpc inside the bud it’s all I thought toughest part . really impressed
A new ceramic driver is quite impressive and makes me appreciate the engineering behind the Nothing Ear. Another impressive detail is case PCBA is uniquely shaped to fit in. And the third impressive detail is a pressure-resistant PU material with 89% light transmission.
Thank you for such an amazing teardown and photos!
I love the design of the transparent charging case so much!
Rob I like how the wireless charge coil is incorporated, it looks so beautiful.
Rob , thanks for breaking down the nitty-gritty of the Nothing Ear! I’m rocking the OG Nothing Ear 2 while vibing to tunes as I jot down this message. So, hearing about the ceramic driver upgrade in the new Nothing Ear has got me all ears!
I mean, who would’ve thought ceramic could jazz up my listening experience? But hey, if it means even crisper highs and clearer sound, count me in! It’s like taking my music game to the next level, and I’m totally here for it.
Props to Nothing for keeping things fresh and pushing the boundaries of what earbuds can do(I’m waiting for the chatgpt integration to my ear 2). Can’t wait to plug in and see (well, hear) what this ceramic magic is all about!
Man, seeing the inside of left ear and all the components there it’s really mind blowing. Stuffing all that in such a small place, we couldn’t even dream at such tings 20 years ago!!!
Truly makes you thinking at the future.
I really liked seeing the inside of the Nothing Ear, especially the Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA). It’s amazing how all the tiny parts like the mics and touch sensor fit together so perfectly. Really makes one appreciate the effort and skill that went into making such tech. The teardown showed just how much thought was put into the design and engineering which tends to not be very noticeable at times!

These are my first in-ear headphones to date. Until now, I have always used my son’s. I switched from OnePlus to the Nothing Phone 2a. It was the design and technology that won me over.
When I saw the new headphones at the presentation, I couldn’t resist. However, I have to add that before I buy a product, I do a lot of research into the technical details.
The first thing I have to mention is that I find that the headphones connect to my phone straight away. The pairing button is really well done.
The ear case has a small but nice size and with 500 mAh case battery a more than sufficient power. As well as the
46 mAh earbud battery.
The microphone is far better than I expected. I can understand my conversation partner very well. Mic for voice/talk
The Transparent stem shell is typical nothing. Thanks for that. Very nice, a successful style.
What can I say, except that I’m thrilled. Great work. Thanks to everyone involved
Keep up your creativity and keep up the good work. The world belongs to the brave.
I really love the compactness of the design as well as the transparency as seen in all nothing products. The ceramic driver is something incredible. I appreciate the batteries and their capacity. Something subtle but amazing is the clear, transparent material that the case is made of. I admire this design. Also, GL on the giveaway everyone!

Integrated Bluetooth Antenna of the Nothing Ear teardown made us appreciate the engineering behind these earbuds.
Nothing Ear (1) and Ear (1) are excellent wireless earbuds that offer a bang for your buck. With solid audio quality, a comfortable fit, unique design, and a fantastic companion app, it’s hard to overlook how good these things are.
Its seamless incorporation into the structure, maintaining both signal quality and a sleek, minimalist design, highlights an exceptional attention to detail.
Overall we liked the product and it will have a great competition among the market
While the whole tear down is a thing of beauty and the ceramic drivers are technically innovative… I can’t help but focus on the FPC alien incredulously gesturing at the wireless charging coil!
I am truly impressed by the meticulous engineering showcased in the Nothing Ear teardown, especially the innovative use of ceramic drivers and the enhanced airflow design with additional vents. The attention to detail in maximizing battery life while maintaining a sleek design is truly commendable. It’s evident that every component has been carefully considered to deliver a premium audio experience. Kudos to the team for their dedication to excellence!

It is absolutely fascinating to see the small components packed into such a small case and makes such a great big noise.
Love the style and appreciate the engineering work to fit the components into that beautiful small case.
It’s probably a less popular part because it is not as aesthetically pleasing as some other parts, but I still choose the Bluetooth Audio SoC. It is mostly because I appreciate the Bluetooth tech for all the possibilities it has brought us!
Rob I like looking at the Earbud PCBAs. I get cyberpunk vibes from it. Retro sci-fi too. It just looks cool!
