Because the voting has started, I would like to recommend some suggestions for voting, considering that this thread’s replies talk about so very few. I’m in no way associated with the people/teams I’m going to write about and I didn’t submit anything for this stage.

With that out of the way, a solid design that stood out to me among the others would be Martin’s. Its texture looks like something taken straight out of a comic book, with a young and energetic design that makes you hyped for the phone just by looking at the package. The green is so brightly neon that it grabs the buyer’s attention immediately, while, to me, also looks like it’s hinting towards the glow (in the dark) gimmick of the phone.

At the polar opposite is the mature and refined design created by Ian. The big eye in the middle of the box grabs the buyer by their soul and pulls them into a dimension they never dared to explore, zooming past generic competing brands and landing them smack-dab in the middle of a planet of technological wonder. At least, that’s what the design inspires, a brand that offers courage to its buyers to try something unprecedented.

Another great entry is Vivek’s mysterious design. The main layer of the package looks like it’s merely showcasing the color of the phone that the buyer is about to purchase. However, the two strategically placed circles on the second layer surround the box in this mystical aura, making the buyer wonder what secrets the phone is hiding. The glass effect added on top of the circles not only goes hand in hand with Nothing’s aesthetic, but also makes me feel like I’m looking at something I’m not supposed to see yet.

I would like to conclude by adding that people should not consider things like “financial feasibility” or what the point of a box should or shouldn’t be when voting, because neither are we Nothing’s corporate cost assessment team, nor should we focus solely on traditional design concepts. We are a community of passionate people who are here to vote on entries that we believe look cool, while inspiring designers to create anything that races through their minds. If you want to vote for glow-in-the-dark boxes, transparent plastic boxes, boxes made out of weird organisms, thermochromic paint boxes or anything else, by all means do so.

Louis ☕️ Yeah it will be a lot of fun, and I think it will also help the user understand the product! Thank you 🙂

RaduBratan You have made some wonderful points there. Design is kinda like art and that makes it very subjective, not everyone will like the same thing. Best you can do is make something that you like and put it out in the world and hopefully that resonates with others.

stealth And Rahil, if you’re a singer, I would love to hear some samples. It would be great to see another talent of yours!

I appreciate your vote for me stealth.

Regarding my music, yeah you can listen to it on Spotify or Apple music.

My concept is that packaging would be ghosted like ghosted phone’s pattern in night. And the quality would be like main phone 2a. Please vote me if your concept is this.

mei lol, brilliant, I liked the Instagram story 😎

flo_rahil I love this bro, I checked it out ! Not my type of music but I can appreciate the talent present here. The lyrics are fantastic in “This Too Shall Pass” and “The Silence”. And the vocals all around are really soothing. You can really wear many hats. Keep at it bro, you never know. Music artists are getting viral out of trash vulgar songs and your music is leagues better. Just keep polishing your craft and keep moving forward. Best wishes!

Reveland It is really well explained too, I love how it looks on my app 😲

        🗳️ Voting now closed! 🗳️

Hey all, thank you for casting your votes - voting for Stage 3: Packaging Design is now closed.

Stay tuned to find out the winning concept in the coming weeks…

RaduBratan Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m really glad you liked my concept. It means a lot!

Although the voting is closed, I wanted to share something I noticed. I posted an idea about using leuco dye (thermochromic ink) and saw that another project had already explored this concept. It’s inspiring to see that a lot of people are on the same wavelength, coming up with similar innovative ideas independently. It really highlights the creativity within our community.

While many ideas focus on universally exciting concepts like glow-in-the-dark packaging, I think I agree with a few members on tackling the challenge of accessibility to turning off lights. Additionally, concepts exploring lenticular boxes are innovative and promising.

Eventually, it all comes down to the community, despite differing opinions. What matters most is our collective creativity and dedication to innovation. I am really excited for the results to be announced and see where this goes. Best of luck to all the participants! ✨🪩
