Hello, Nothing community! Iām Miguel_KYOTEN. This week I discovered this competition while helping my wife decide on a new phone.
I didnāt participate in the earlier stages, but seeing the results, I couldnāt have done better! The designs are fantastic!
Anyway, before discussing my proposal, let me introduce myself. Iām a web designer, but I dabble in graphic design and printing. Iām familiar with techniques like using inks and UV, which Iāve applied to this packaging design. Right now, Iām looking to start my own business, and winning a stage competition like this would help highlight my portfolio.
Regarding the design, I wanted to maintain the same phone position in the box as the other versions of the Nothing (2a), creating a sense of continuity.
I chose black with fluorescent ink because I think it looks elegant while highlighting this phoneās unique fluorescence. I know itās a risky colour, but it aims to differentiate itself from the rest of the (2a) from the startāthe packaging is the first thing you see. Also, using fewer inks might be more cost-effective to print and, above all, more eco-friendly.
Finally, it really stands out when the lights go out, simulating the effect that @Kenta achieved with their design in the first phase.
