When can we expect the Nothing Community App? Is it in development?

Not sure it was ever in development tbh. The web experience (on web and mobile) is pretty optimised. The resources required to create an app that’s better than the current experience wouldn’t be worth it. Who knows, one day there might be something 🤔

I love the new nothing community discussion website! Just wondering, would there be a pwa for it on the play store in the near future? I feel this would make it more accessible on mobile.

nottobytyler We’re in the early stages of planning our new community experience, but a native app is definitely on our minds. Using this community site from a web browser on mobile isn’t the best experience, and I think we can do better.

maybe nothing.community can be a app that for pc and mac but based on chromium or a electron app.

My temporary solution for this would be: Install Hermit from the Playstore and create a Lite app yourself. I just did this in a matter of minutes.

Allelujah oh that’s odd, can’t reproduce it unfortunately because my account isn’t connected with Google. You might want to try if this is because of the privacy settings inside Hermit and play with some settings.

Hi @Rob ⚡️ the platform look great an so unconventional compared to a lot of other user feedback. Though you do mention that the site is still in early stages it would be better for the community but honestly more so the Nothing Team more so if “Everything Else” is segmented direct user to specific areas/features rather than talking about everything else literally. In terms of software improvements, general bugs etc

By the way Rob, is Nothing’s community application proprietary solution because it looks literally like nothing like other user feedback/forum/community application?

NumDePlum Thanks for the feedback, I’ve no doubt there will be some changes to the categories in the future.

This is actually based on a third-party solution, however utilises a custom theme to keep things looking Nothing 🫡

Rob ⚡️ Hi Rob, why would you guys bother building a native app? Would it just be more ideal if you just worked with this platform providers team and just make the nothing.community site much more responsive on mobiles instead that way every user could still use their same credentials rather than wasting resources on a separate app simply for one product.

We have given some thought to user-credentials, don’t worry about that.

Your comment around wasting resources, thanks for your concern, but the community experience is very important to us.

NumDePlum the community site can optional reply on nothing widgets list add on. (If the app not mature and practical yet) just remember it’s not a display on the widget, the widget can have minimal function thru community sites) may be. Because simplicity makes less energy spending. Run smoothly, since user can login nothing phone acc, connect the community, the platform ui and the simplicity templates might need u guys to figure it out. Because I try several times reload and log in smoothly now regarding the network issues.

BTW, make sure it’s stable.
