Sourav_Satvaya i got your point . every one need to kiss and lick NOTHING’S feet and no one has any right to criticize or roast them. fanatics like you are sure going boost NOTHING’S BRAND IMAGE . IF iSheep fanatics can boost iPhone’s brand image why not you.
UI redesign by juxtopossed
SkynetT1000 nothing fans are worse than sammy and iphone fans. Atleast they get a complete unified and consistent design and experience. They nail the fundamental and don’t go in YouTube and criticize other companies without making their own company better!
Don’t compare yourself to bigger brands and then complain and whine that you’re “only a 4 year old company” when you do get constructively compared.

SkynetT1000 I also got your point, person like you loves to hate a brand and doesn’t understand what brand identity is and loves to lick some Chinese bloated UIs and compare it with those. Those companies are in the market for more than 10 years with lots of resources but trash lovers like you doesn’t have that basic knowledge that a 4 year old company can’t achieve that much refinement within this short period. Before comparing with glorified OneUI and OxygenOS just visit those respective forums and check how much hate they’re getting for making it bloated. Speaking of criticism did I say I don’t like criticism? I said criticism is good if there’s a valid point to it. I also criticise Nothing for not providing any charger in the box, partnering with Flipkart and launching the same phone with different colours every 2 or 3 months, but a pointless criticism is not a criticism, it’s just hatred towards a specific brand. If you like bloated trash then why bothered trying a near stock android, didn’t you know Nothing has near stock experience or you don’t know what stock experience is?
Sourav_Satvaya they don’t know what the stock Android, because they are using new oxygen os

Sourav_Satvaya Yes, looks like she don’t know Xiaomi (and Samsung) also shifted to Google messages. About dialer, just stick Google dialer, and it is Android and bloatfree android should be using Google. If want to have bloatfree android without Google, then need to design own OS (non-Google). Then she also says, need Nothing make a calculator? Her next video she’ll ask Nothing Pay too, Nothing Lens, and Nothing Search Engine.
RohithTony Yes man, I don’t know why they buy stock Android and complain it is not new OxygenOS (colorOS) when there is already ColorOS devices out there, OneUI, HyperOS, Oppo, Vivo, RealmeOS. Why they didn’t buy those phones? They buy nothing and then complain that Nothing is not bloated like ColorOS

Sourav_Satvaya Exactly… the beauty of Nothing is keeping it Stock without filling it bloatware but adding useful customisation.

Dude.. she is literally a UI designer.
It’s their job to make things intuitive.
And she pointed out the good things from other OS’s lol. Why would she point out the bad things among other OS’s in a video that is critiquing nothing? Make it make sense.
I’ve personally felt a lot of what she said as pain points. It’s not like she’s spewing a bunch of bs or making things up.
All points were valid. As a design-oriented company, nothing should definitely work with such users to make their products better.
I completely agree with every point in the video, honestly seeing a unified design language across applications. I would love to see a dialer, calculator and other miscellaneous apps to include the nothing dot-matrix design language. Current NothingOS feels somewhat half-baked in some sense, and it should be renamed to Nothing Interface. Hope the team takes some pointers.

hexagonal717 Yes!! Nothing is stock, with addition of useful features like app lock, dual app, while still maintaining stock experience. If they change that, they gonna lose original fans. Those here asking this and that, asking bloatware, if given also, they’ll still move to others.
Some points in the video are quite valid, but it’s still an overall for me. Here are my thoughts:
Positives:
1. The control panel suggestions she made were quite valid tbh.
2. Icons in the settings could be dot themed
3. Navigation bar icons could be dot themed, but not the ones she suggested
4. Hopefully, the Google apps that we are currently reliant on will be replaced by official Nothing apps in the future.
5. Progress bar for camera countdown timer
Negatives:
1. No color picker for icons. Else, people will make some illegible home screens!
2. She could’ve done a better job researching the purpose of monochrome icons, rather than roasting them.
3. Widgets are good as they are, except, ALL icons should be dotted and ALL fonts should be the Nothing’s serif. All of them.
4. What? Does she want one control for each glyph light? That would make it too complex for a normal user. The existing thing is just fine.
5. No colorful glyphs Only WHITE!
6. The repair thing. If you want one, you sacrifice the other. Nothing had to pierce into the competitive market with something unique, and they did just that. (Still a point worth a discussion.)
7. Yeah, those back elements are not functional. Noone has hidden that fact.
Why she’s complaining about the serif font on the widget tho. Nothing font is not only the dot matrix one, there’s the serif one. nothing even using the font on the website. Everything in dot matrix style will reduce readability thus we need “normal” fonts too so we can do quick glance to just see the date and time.
The dots font gets unreadable if it’s too small or too large. So I think it should be used very limited, just like an accent element. It shouldn’t be on any functional text. Instead, the icons can be made dotted like she suggested in the video. They were awesome.
For example, the “SETTINGS” title can be in the dots font because you already know where you are and that title is not very essential in that scenario.
Community members, whoever are developing Nothing themed applications, you are doing an awesome job, but please keep in mind that the dots font is not the only option you have. You have a tasty serif font that can be used. Also, for god’s sake don’t make the dots font red
Uday Actually people also asking for everything to be in nothing theme, so yes dotted pretty much almost everywhere. It’s probably where we’re headed too, but I really hope the next major update, they give the option to us and not force. Like currently, the date in the lockscreen is forced font. I don’t want that. For settings, like you said, that’s fine.
Meet looks good
Good points. My thoughts:
2. I was a fan of monochrome icons initially, considering the logic behind them. But at times I’ve found myself literally opening up wrong apps in a hurry because it’s hard to make out what’s what. Introducing a tinge of color like she shown in the video, or at least that being an option would be a great step. Like the point of it is being mindful with what you open, I get it, but it also slows you down when say you might just want to book a cab quickly, make a payment or whatever.
Example, I have 3 fitness apps and 2 audiobook apps with similar icons. With color, it’d be easy to make out what’s what. Without it, I miss it now and then. I’ve still kept them but it’s a love hate thing sometimes, and it’s still a valid point that some color can quickly help associate things faster. She showed an example that demonstrated good balance. Again, it could be an optional thing.
5: agreed
6: They never said issue is with the design, in fact it was appreciated by them, and I love it too. It’s part of the reason I’ve bought 2 nothing phones plus earbuds and I’m here talking about this. I love how these devices look. The suggestion was to simply provide some manuals for a company that takes pride being ‘transparent’.. no pun intended
Still, good points though
The video is so appropriate and have pointed out a lot of scope of improvement also the UI still has bugs and even the display quality of my Nothing phone 2a is not better to view dark scenes as pixels get torn. I hope they focus on what they want to give when they launched the company and don’t fool around with only designing of the phone.

Meet yup, glad people r talking abt it, ngl the Google apps r annoying as hell.
As well I hope they make one “nothing transfer" of their own or smth to transfer and copy data one day, it’ll be better than just relying on google accounts for it, in general on Google apps for most basic things
I recently got a nothing phone (2) and it is awesome .It is fast , smooth, fluid.
But , after using it for many days , its actually little frustrating to see the UI soo inconsistent
Here are my thoughts and observations after have the nothing phone for a while
- no native phone app, gallery app, messages app, calculator app(to much relying on google)
- nothing widget’s font inconsistency
- little less polished notification bar (unable to access the brightness bar in single swipe down , i should do it twice )
These are some nitpicks that’s been bothering me for quite a while now
I very well hope nothing phone fixes these problems to make it a overall , fluid consistent phone
i also found a Youtube video showing the proper points to my(our) problem.
