Rob ⚡️ changed the title to Random reset of Watch Pro 2 .

Pika I have a pretty solid theory on why this happens.

The ram falls short and the storage falls short as well. The Ram uses swap memory (virtual memory) meaning it uses the remaining free storage as ram. This means when we’re doing tasks it uses ram and when ram gets finished it starts using the storage as ram. Now if we have very little free storage then the ram usage exceeds the free storage and our watch freezes. During this process the storage also corrupts due to which it resets. . If the swap memory gets full then storage corrupts, this is standard in all OS but android and windows are really advanced and keep clearing ram to prevent this but Watch OS are as not advanced.

Solution: keep storage free on the watch.

  1. Reboot the watch periodically to free up ram
  1. Delete all the watch faces you don’t use
  1. Remove world clocks
  1. Remove reminders.
  1. Turn off weather updates
  1. Remove alarm
  1. Clear notifications

I’m following numbers 1, 2 and 4. If I still face the same things then I’ll follow 3 and 5, 7as well. But so far in a few days I haven’t faced this issue.

This is also why Nothing is won’t admit their mistakes and fix this. What are they gonna do add more ram? I have heard this issue also happened with the watch one.

3 months later

Have same issue today. I have the Watch since 5 days. Updated with firmware 1.0.0.70 and we are january 6 2025. How is possible to have this issue again since september 2024 and firmware 1.0.0.65 without corrected bug ??? May I return my Watch to Amazon because Nothing are not able to correct her bug ?

Herv_URBAIN did you try the fix i posted above? I’ve not faced this issue since i made that post? I’m only following point number 2 now

Hi, than you. It is not a fix to not use the memory for not have memory issue…. I use reminder with some items, so this items will use memory certainly much than 1 Watchface which is one on the main feature for a smart watch 🙁 All data : widgets, reminder… are in thé app. Why the reset of the Watch erase data in the app also ?

      I had this too

Herv_URBAIN yeah i understand, its Nothing’s laziness, they should’ve fixed this long back.

It’s not a fix but that’s all you can do, not using reminders is a good trade-off for me compared to the UI and build of the watch. If reminders is important ig just get into the habit of rebooting the watch.

The data like widgets and reminders are stored on the watch then synced to mirror on the phone that’s why memory runs out.

samanvayshobhit yes i will try to restart every day if I not forget 🥴 I have similary issue with the pebble but Pebble do not lost anything. Still do not understand how is possible that Nothing not found this issue still 6 months that people report It ? 🤔
