The issue I am seeing with most users in the community is they keeping expectations way too high without understanding or having knowledge of what they want in nothing. for example, lets take a look at nothing OS.
if you have seen they mentioned it took 2 years to make OS what it is in nothing OS 3.0
this is new brand. even if you take other like samsung, it had touch wiz. it took so much time R&D and failures to make One UI to this point. also people expect things from the phone like it costs $1000. I mean we getting the value of what we paying for. bugs are getting fixed. we also got budget phone line, audio products, chargers and shi* too. so lets take it slow and steady and appreciate what we have. we getting clean OS, diff design phone etc.
people are asking for features like its a subway and you can add or remove what you want. the userbase is huge , some people might not like some change while others may love it.
for example, all my haptics are off, I never used AOD etc. while same features are some peoples favorites.
we getting gallery now, so we may be get dialer or sms app with nothing OS 3.3 or may be in future.
I am happy with what value it gives. if you really unhappy , no one is forcing you to holding on, you may switch to other brands. apple is still giving 60fps at that price and we getting 120. so its all ups and downs doesnt mean its terrible.

at the end, this is my personal opinion on what I feel. no offence to anyone.

Anonymous297 best post i see here in the community, and i really like the nothing os 2.6 one of the best OS for now ✔️ people don’t understand all the advantages of this system, people are crying all the day in community that they want more nothing apps better camera etc. For what?! You want somthing bloatware? run and buy samsung/xiaomi/huaweii/apple or any other brand phone

You want a great camera? Buy a flagship that cost more than 1000$

Anonymous297 I understand your point but they’re things that are quite simple, requests that have plagued users, we have begged for them to remove or give and option to disable the post processing for images, and till now all our requests haven’t been attended to.

KelvinEdimeh yeah I understand, there might be few things brand needs to work on. and does any other brand gives option to toggle post processing? I am not a camera user much… so not aware of this data. would you like to add some details ? like comparison with other brands in same segment phones

Anonymous297 other phones use their own post processing, they rely on Google photos to carry it out, it doesn’t consider skin tone or how dark or bright the image is, it applies the same over HDR effect for all images.

Anonymous297 I mean in the end, the company brand went from 0 users to having millions of users in a matter of days for the release of the nothing phone 1 and so yes it’s 2024 but the brand is still in its early development years ( looking at it on a longer timespan) and so it easier for the brand to make changes before it hits the billion user mark where its brand is basically permanent.

ItsmehotdogGaming yes I agree but people here are making requests you should see, like we want haptic on every touch, we want AI all over, we want something like apple etc etc.

Anonymous297 People are really unaware of how much time and effort it takes to implement new features and fix bugs. They be really wanting the Apple Camera, MI Haptics, Redmagic Performance, etc in half the price from a company in it’s earlier stage. Good Post!

M1st at least you understand what goes BTS. these folks wont understand, they be like I am paying this that I want this that.

Anonymous297 Bro I agree to what you said. But we are users , we need to let the brand know what we are expecting so it’s according to the people and way they are presenting their need. Some say their needs in an offending manner which is too bad and they should understand that it’s a new brand. But on the other side if users don’t say their needs the brand itself is not capable of growing according to the future needs. The users are saying their needs in a way that the idea can be implemented in the future devices atleast as some of the features can’t be added in the current phones hardwares.

Hope what I said is not in an offensive manner.

BassimBinYoosaf right bro. We need to express our thoughts and expectations. What’s really annoying is people who keep saying “I want” and “I need” this and that without even knowing what they’re talking about. Like the most bizarre I’ve seen today is somebody request an unique/exclusive AI for Nothing phones only. You ask why? To do what we can already do with Google Assistant… smh

My point is the following: we should say “I would like” instead of just demanding. Being polite and respectful is key. There are some people who seem to think that Nothing owes them anything. Nothing should focus on fixing serious issues and improve their software. For me it’s more important to focus on improving camera processing (quality) and performance (hardware is great) than creating apps like a phone dialer for example. What’s wrong with Google Phone?

I agree that after most issues are under control, Nothing could post some polls asking which apps should be replaced with Nothing developed ones. That would be awesome!

I hope that I didn’t offend anyone. Peace!

mafcarvalho I completely agree to what you said bro. But the think is that it’s your perspective that you like Google dialer,I am not offending, but we should consider everyone’s interest ryt?

But according to users who look more into things, might have some dislikes .Just a basic example according to me I would love to see my call contact image in a higher definition and full screen image which is a completely basic need. But even though there might be people with the same interests.

Anonymous297 I came to Nothing to escape from Samsung…

I miss some things from One UI, but believe me, it doesn’t matter having things that you’re not going to use, that work poorly, that slow down the phone and drain the battery…

Nothing is making quality products and it’s getting better… Samsung however is in decline.

BassimBinYoosaf right bro. I asked what is wrong with Google Phone which is just OK imo. But I also agree with your argument. It could be improved. Maybe not a full screen photo (my opinion) but something with higher resolution for sure. Better will not hurt. It’s just a question of setting priorities straight. We should understand that Nothing is a very recent company and they can’t do everything at the same time. Some requests seem reasonable and others are just childish. I mean generally in the community. Like I said before, Nothing should focus on the functional issues first and foremost. It’s time to get Nothing OS 3.0 sorted out and release it with most of the reported bugs fixed. One step at a time. When Nothing has their user base updated with the latest OS version, it’s time to work on the most solicited apps and features. I’d like to see Nothing with their own identity, keeping things simple and functional. It would be a terrible mistake to try to imitate other bloated user interfaces. I just love to have a phone that actually lets me choose what to install and use.

                    mafcarvalho

Yaa some requests are childish. Yes nothing is new brand but we are the key to there improvement. So tell what you feel without offending the brand or other users.

The key purpose of a community is also to get the idea of what exactly the user needs. But I would suggest the users to make a study sometimes before making a post.

BassimBinYoosaf exactly! Before posting people should at least Google first and try to search if their issue was already posted somewhere in the community.

Also we should make a distinction between what we want and what we need. I want to win the lottery. I don’t need it. 😉

mafcarvalho According to me giving same post is not a much big issue because for example if I say a feature and some one else ask for the same feature with a little more update in what the other person told can make a huge change. Wht I meant by searching in Google is while asking a feature the people should be searching if this feature is a hardware based feature or a software based feature. If it is a hardware based feature the brand has no option in bringing these features in the current model

Anonymous297 I absolutely agree with this post. One of the biggest point being 90 fps support for Pubg/BGMI which Nothing has no control over, Krafton can give the feature but people kept on filling the community tabs all over.

But I will say that there’s definitely a lack of communication from the brand and the way they handle things. For example, one of the biggest issues with Android 14 was the huge battery drain. While the whole android was hit with that, nothing has just got some of the worst of it. As a brand, we’ve heard a million times that this issue was brought up in meetings but nothing came out of it (pun intended). Also, the weird issue of features being present on one phone but not on others, like the Phone 2 does not have the camera widget, which is present on other phones, the CMF phone has Vivid mode in camera app but the Nothing phones don’t.

I can understand that it may not be something that everyone wants but they have already developed it so why isn’t it present in all phones. Also, the weird phone update process, they prioritise the newer phone which is understandable but if I paid 500 USD for a phone, I will definitely feel betrayed when a 150 USD or 200 USD device is being prioritised.

The communication from the brand needs to be better but they are really doing some great work and I am here for the journey.
