Nothing OS 3.0 | Phone (2a) Open Beta
As a nothing 2a user no hate but i love this update but why don’t just make it accessable for all the nothing devices like i payed never as much as NP 1 or 2 and still have more features for less money damn. You are making yourself so many haters right now Nothing.

I’m really excited about Nothing OS 3.0; at first glance, it looks really impressive. However, I find it a bit unfortunate that my phone (Nothing Phone 2) is getting the update (beta) later than a phone that costs half as much and isn’t even part of the flagship series (Phone 2a).

KelvinEdimeh Ah, then that’s kind of weird. Have you tried restarting your device and seeing if the issue resolves itself?
BingusBongus32 Bruh first of all, it’s not a closed beta for your information, second thing, they should’ve released for the Phone 2 as well, third don’t teach me about how much time OS upgrades take…OEM gets BSP (Board Support Package) from the Qcom for the updates, after that OEM tweaks the OS & Kernel according to their needs, then they apply the NOS UI on the top of BSP (it’s still a lot of commits pick) and changes in the codes, my argument here is, they’re using the same source for all device, just device side work is different, it’s not like a hectic work for a professional team like Nothing, they’re not Xiaomi HyperOS ,tons of bloated features on top of BSP, Nothing OS is close to stock, and I’m not blaming the dev team for this, It’s just as simple as that, when you pay more you obviously expect to get priority in SW Updates whether it’s a Hotfix or camera improvement or security patch update or whether it’s CBT/OBT.

AryamanSrivastava_vP7a3gRDLf If you think Nothing OS is anything close to stock you are kidding yourself. You seem like you have lots of experience with how the development livecycle works for these products which is why it baffles my as to how ignorant you are to how these processes work. I also never implied it was a closed beta, I have no clue where you got that from. Your “Second thing” isn’t even an argument, just your opinion, which is not much to go by seeing how irradical your messaging has been so far, to be honest.

What you say about Phone 1 users, we are always the last to receive any update. Nothing treats us like the step child almost as if the Phone 1 is TOTALLY OUTDATED DEVICE. Not cool at all

I’m not criticizing the Nothing for this, I’m just disappointed, it’s my own opinion, none of your business, I’m just telling this to the Team, not you so stop defending them.
It’s just when you pay more for the premium segment from the company, you’ve little expectations that it’ll get priority atleast or improvements in camera through SW Updates, but sadly that’s not the case. You won’t believe, in most of the scenarios my spacewar (phone1) takes much better pictures than pong (phone2).
And for the last time, I should clear this that I’m not against why they released for the Phone 2a first , my point here is they could’ve released both devices together!
I downloaded the beta update and my phone has been really warm since then and the battery life suffers as a result and it runs out noticeably faster
What are the chances I’d have to delete my phone data ?
I want to try the beta but not have to do the factory reset.
The Inter font got a little bit wider. For the Cyrillic alphabet it looks worse than Roboto.
Please, add a feature to add own font or provide more fonts to choose!
