Anonymous340 - probably an issue with US Bands or something? - It does suck that not everyone will be able to enjoy the celebration of the Community.
Let’s hope that this is merely the start of a wonderful tradition of Community engagement and co-creation!
Natalie Best community update yet—huge thanks to the team! The Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition is here, limited to 1,000 units. Shoutout to @Rahul and @RapidZapper for the snake widget, can’t wait to use it! #NothingCommunity
It’s very impressive design! And congrets to all the people that makes it happen
It came out really better than I expected it to be. Though I loved every design choice of Nothing, I was a little worried how a radium integrated back would work but you guys pulled it off amazingly. With this, my trust in Nothing’s design has increased ten fold. Congratulations team Nothing and the Community edition winners.
But as it’s only 1000 units let’s see if I can get my hands on it or not…
Congrats to the community and the Nothing team for creating something truely unique & desirable.
But riddle me this.. if it’s a “community edition” then it shouldn’t be limited just 1000 units, kind of defeats it’s “community-ness” does it not?
Also, I don’t see Australia on the list of countries (I’m sure there’s other countries that are not listed as well).. does that means it’s not avaiable? Edit: Sorry, just read that “We might be adding more locations along the way, so stay tuned!”
I’m feelin’ lucky
Ealesy101 regular 2a plus was available and works great on a few US carriers lol just sucks to see a community project and Nothing just eliminates the US beta community. I understand limiting the production due to costs etc. to 1000 units but that also sucks for a growing community and often just leads to insane resale markets. Hopefully those signing up that do get a chance to get one are passionate community members and not just resellers capitalizing on limited qty releases like this.
I’m certainly excited to see how this community grows long term and as the community grows, I really hope to see Nothing become more inclusive of their community holistically expanding these opportunities to everyone versus a select few of their community members. Just feels like their target markets financially are always their go to and the rest of the community is alienated. Maybe if they said this in the initial community project details it would have been more transparent but dropping this as a limited exclusive and only for select markets, isn’t really a “community” edition…
Anonymous340 tbh even if the actual passionate community members get one they’ll still end up reselling it when a collector offers them an absurd amount of money :/
tanxtr3m3 not sure if they just want to create more hype or what the deal is. Just dissapointed to see it’s limited to only 1000 units, so that means that fans miss out or even worse people (not fans) buy them to resell for a profit. It doesn’t feel very “community edition” at all, maybe “limited edition” is better name for it.
zygerboy excited for snake! Reminds me of the old Nokia days!
If its available to everyone, its not exclusive. But I do agree 1000 units is a bit less for a community thats worldwide.
Does the registration work for any of you? (Trying from de.nothing.tech. Seems broken atm.)
Natalie Wait so I live in South Africa (you do sell here through Vodacom vendor) and I participated in the community challenge and also would love to be able to register, what do I do?? Says nothing about Africa per usual to anything
Just woke up at 4am to find out I can’t purchase the community edition in the US. That’s fun lol
Natalie Are you guys planning for community meet up?
freshj1ve this exactly! Felt every bit of this as well watching this launch today. Just feels like another hype ad to sell another 1000 units to their select top markets versus an actual community focused product where the whole community has an opportunity to be collectively apart of… pretty unfortunate they weren’t transparent about this during the process and saved these details for the drop. Personally I was hype to see something like this and then all that hype washed away pretty instantly lol hopefully long term they become more invested in their whole community not just a select few. Otherwise it’s not truly a community… Also makes many wonder what will become of phone 3 also
