Pop culture can be the tapestry of engagement. Chances are you have watched something that left a mark. Good or bad, to write about it is to deepen its everlasting effect; to write about it can be your mind reliving the frames, sharpening the ever so critical brain.
This is the place for us to write about the movies and the TV series we have watched, we are watching, and that we will watch based on a cascade of interconnected recommendations.
Streaming services are a dime a dozen, from Netflix to HBO, including Disney+, Prime Video, even the indie darling MUBI or your local platform. If you write about what you just watched, it can resonate with another member, be it because they share the same opinion, or because they have an opposite understanding of it.
Sometimes we just discover old gems at our own pace. If you are watching a piece of entertainment that originally aired months or even years ago, this is also the place where we can talk about it. From the latest blockbuster to the risk taking avant-garde flick that you believe had an audience of one. This is a call for your keyboard.
Given the nature of what we’ll be discussing, my only request is for us to be careful with spoilers. The best approach is to not write any, but if you really have to, please use the spoiler command - just select “Additional Controls” and the option “Spoiler”.
Oh hello there, your words will appear like this
Animals with moods, one day we may be craving a romcom from Netflix where we know they’ll live happily ever after before pressing play; the other we may hear the call from Criterion Collection, a whisper from Antonioni’s masterpiece that we’re finally going to watch. One day with no judgement is everyday in this thread.
Here we are with an ocean of possibilities ahead of us. What we are watching is our recommendation; the screen adorned with an uninterrupted tide of past and future being described in each and every present when we press “Post Reply”.
Against a screen full of nothing, let me ask you: what are you watching?
