A while ago I shared with you a sketch of my concept product and asked you to guess what kind of product it is
Now the answer is reveal————
This is a laptop from Nothing, book(1).
Here are pictures of different angle
The appearance maintains the consistent style of Nothing. The case is made of translucent polycarbonate and aluminum alloy, which has verygood impact resistance.
Glyph
Glyph is one of the most distinctive features of Nothing phone, so I also design a dicateded Glyph interface specifically for book(1). Although the light strip simplified to three strips, but the basic functions of Glyph are still retained, allows you can know computer information even if you cover the laptop.
Also the video light is also retained, but its function is change to be a breathing ilight (this inspiration comes from the Thinkpad’s breathing light).
Glyph keyboard
If there is only have an ordinary Glyph interface, so book(1) will not be much different with Nothing phone, so book(1) needs another new interaction design that is different with the ordinary Glyph interface, and this new interaction design is called the Glyph keyboard
The keycaps of the Glyph keyboard are translucent and equippe with LED bulbs at the bottom. Its function is to guide the user to use the computer by emphasizing some specific keys. When users presses specific keys or opens a specific apps, some commonly use keys will light up.
When you typing text, all text symbols, space, Shift, Backspace and Enter key will light up
Glyph keyboard also suitable for command input. When the Ctrl key is press, the keys associate with it will also light up
Glyph keyboard can also be customize. For example you can set the WASD and space key to light up when you open a game
Addition to guiding user to use the computer, Glyph keyboard can also display some simple information. When the volume or brightness adjustment keys are press, the number keys will light up to display the corresponding percentag
Other design details
There is a wireless charging coil in the lower right corner of the C panel of the book(1), which can charge wireless earbuds such as Nothing ear.
Looking forward to your comments : )
