I took a nap as my office was charging, in the mean time it updated. When I woke up it was burning hot, I quickly unplugged it and observe the battery drain at a crazy speed. Turned it off to let it cool down, turned it back on. Downloaded an app called Android Assistant just to try and see what’s going on. It showed the CPU working at 100-90% ! I let the app force close everything it could, the CPU went to 40%, but every time I do anything, like switch tabs on the very same app, or switch between apps, or type, or scroll, it jumps up to 70-100% and the battery is being drained

DianaLazuli you can connect via adb shell and check which process is using the cpu. you can use top in shell to get list of processes. I remember having an issue with Play Services going nuts and maxing the CPU. So I eventually just started force stopping it whenever the phone felt warm. It’s not a solution but the problem with OEM update is that fixes take time. 🤷

I’ve noticed that after the OS3 update (even after this update the proximity sensor issue is still prevalent ) the proximity sensor is not working properly and making accidental dials and taking screenshots abruptly. And also app icons in the home screen folders not displaying theirs logos initially sometimes, they are visible only after requisition.

They have again broken the battery usage page. And there is a huge drain in battery after this particular update. Backup was so good in previous update. Also there is a bug that whenever I reboot my phone and unlock it with pin a message still appears on lock screen “ Unlock for all features and data”. It still remains there despite unlocking the phone. The bug was there also in previous version before this. I think half of my user experience has been ruined by the battery backup issue in Nothing phone 2(purchased 1.5 years back).

The Bluetooth issue with watches appears to still exist in this update for WearOS watches. The watch gets disconnected a while after connecting it to the phone through its companion app, especially after the phone has not been rebooted for a few days. This is disappointing, as this issue did not occur during open beta.

There’s a new issue that I have observed with my phone,more like a nuisance. I have noticed that whenever I try to play music from the Spotify app: 1) the system UI crashes, 2) my phone automatically returns to lock screen and the screen flickers continuosly which prevents me from unlocking the phone again. At this period of time I simply restart the phone(holding volume up + power on/off button) and everything is normal. However when I try to play the music again, I face the same issue.

Another issue issue I have noticed is that I am unable to play any video on any web browsing app(chrome,brave,etc). Th phone, at this point, would simple return to lock screen and start flickering. Note that I have no issues while playing videos on YouTube. But the phone would not allow me to view videos through a browsing app. This issue started after I updated the phone to the build number : Pong-V3.0-241226-2001-IND

Please help with any solutions you’ll come up with.

I didn’t install the update because there are many reports of battery draining fast. I will stuck with version 2.6 for now

Waiting for s more battery friendly update. The best OS was when i bought the phone, it ran so smooth. Every update ruined this amazing phone a litte bit more.

George_TH Yes, that was the true gem. It was so sleek, fast and reliable. Actually, they are not limiting the CPU usage which is the actual cause of battery drain. OS3.0 is also good but the idle drain is killing it.

I am currently running Nothing OS 3.0 on my Nothing Phone 2. I am experiencing a weird issue that’s driving me crazy. When I am taking an incoming call or making an outgoing call, after sometime the microphone just get muted on its own. Similarly, when I make a call or receive an incoming call via WhatsApp, after sometime during the call, the mic gets muted and the other party cannot hear me.

So I thought something is wrong with the MIC. so I tried the recorder app, then it records normally. Another weird observation is, normally when a mic is being used, it shows a green dot on the top right corner. When the mic gets muted, I no longer see the green dot.

How I know the mic is muted ? When I use WeChat to record a voice message, it shows the screenshot belowed. When this happen, I need to restart the phone. Please HELP and Advise.

After updating to version 3.0, I have encountered the following bugs:

1. *Chrome URL Bar Typing Issue*: When trying to type a URL in the Chrome browser, the text appears on the keyboard but does not display in the URL bar. This issue persists even after restarting the device.

2. *Rapid Charging Not Working*: Since the update, rapid charging no longer works with my charger. This feature was working fine before the update.

I hope these issues will be addressed in a future update.

People please open chrome or Google’s clock from app drawer (some other apps too) go back from the app > App drawer and to home page swiftly, there’s a HUGE lag after the gesture. From the app drawer to home page. Kindly fix this issue.

Edit - I found that if I use button navigation there is no lag. Only when I use gestures, it happen. Kindly fix please
