Hello Everyone,

I just got my first Nothing phone and I feel that some essential features are missing. Nothing is depending solely on Google for the Dialer and Photos and some other apps as well. I think an independent app would be better for the Photos/Gallery. I use Google Photos for backing up my important images only, using it often is unpleasing. As for the Dialer, Nothing can make a separate app, and create it with the Nothing UI and style. Using Google apps as the main apps make the phone generic and unpleasing to use.

Guys, Guys, Guys, what about a Nothing MUSIC PLAYER.

I think I’m one of the minority that still uses stored/downloaded music, the Nothing OS needs a music player.

adbo changed the title to Nothing's own Suite of Apps .

So there is Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi (Poco, Redmi which has theme stores)

What we need is stock experience, we lack Pixel in so many regions.

That’s where Nothing comes in. For international, other than Sony, Nothing is the only good phone with stock experience. We are lacking stock experience. That’s how OnePlus started too, and lost it’s appeal after moving away from that becoming like other brands.

Carl moved on and created Nothing just like how OnePlus started, and some people had to choose Nothing out of so many other brands.. and then ask Nothing to move away from stock experience and turn into another ColorOS, OneUI, MIUI?

They’re still new company.. they should also focus on the OS optimization.. camera optimization, and people want own suite of apps like phone, gallery, which there are plenty of alternative on the play store as well. Create own suite of apps, then Nothing have to provide updates and bug fixes for their own suite of apps as well?

The gallery and file manager is not there in nothing. Why nothing team doesn’t provide the separate file manager and gallery like other Android. Pls consider this and give nothing gallery or file manager app soon.

Why not the Google gallery makes it sick. If they provide separate gallery and file manager it is be useful to everyone

they are developing both apps. Should come by the end of 2024

VinothR_rAR3j1TSNU Because Google gallery and Google file manager is largely sufficient for most of the team and thus doesn’t have enough weight to put money on the table and recruit people to do some development…
Many people have already asked this and the answer is always the same : when the user base will be large enough and Nothing OS will be enough stabilized, MAYBE they will think about making specific development for 3rd party apps.

Sambhrant Also there is no evidence at all that are developing such apps. Carl just asked the community what they wished, this isn’t indicative at all that they are developing something.

Use Google Photos or Google Gallery and Google File Manager. For now these apps are quite good enough.

I vote no too. Nothing is about stock experience. It’s Nothing. Clean and no bloatware. Nothing still new, forcing them to do more apps will then increase cost and they need more people to maintain those apps too. So it’s unnecessary. First people ask for app, then people ask for features and more features. Now, how about let them focus on the OS and camera optimization?

You don’t like Google files and Google photos and Google Gallery? Plenty plenty plenty of choice on the app store.

For file manager, try “Fossify File Manager”.. open source, no ads. clutter free..

Well, I like the one-for-all experience on iOS, which is why I would vote for nothing standard apps as every other brand offers. But I agree with the voices, that there are probably other things to do by Nothing than developing apps. It’s easy to get bogged down. If I wanted to hype the google apps, I would rather use a pixel though. Personal preference. t

If anyone wants a great gallery use Aves Gallery and set the refresh rate to HIGH. It’ll be the smoothest experience.

Aves Gallery link to the app. It’s open source I guess…
