Omg I’m facing same issues too, it shows true 5g/5g++ but it’s consuming my 4g data 🥲 wth nothing. Solve this problem please 🙏🏻

I receive JIO 5G signals on my roof top, I have tried connecting to 5G by selecting network manually, However it would sutomatically switches back to 4g 4g+ after a minute, Is there any way I can force it to keep on 5G instead. I have tried with smart 5G disabled.

I’m a CMF Phone 1 user, using this phone since 6 months with airtel sim. When I recharged it with unlimited 5g plans it isn’t working truly 5g the network speeds limit to 5 mbps. I never seen it above 6 mbps even it’s 5g. But the problem is not over yet, I even can’t use unlimited 5g internet, it’s just showing 5g and the data uses from my 2GBper day as a 4G network ☹️.

Hope this problem will be solved as soon as possible.

meer I stringly agree as with test mode enabled 5G stays, There is need for improvement on staying on 5G instead of 4G

      The Cellular Conectivity of Nothing Phone (2a) was awesome from start atleast for me.

      The Last update (January Patch, 14-01-2025), mentioned the
      “ Optimised network selection to improve connection stability.”
      Even befor this patch network was fine from the day Nothing OS 3.0 stable was released and even after updating to January patch it was no different.

      Don’t know what happened 9-10 days later the network started to behave in a weird way (My Operator is Jio):

      • On normal 4G network, the phones started to be on 4G+ (even on very strong network area).
        4G+ is much slower than 4G, much slower
      • On 5G network the speed became hell slow (4-5 mbps, previously it was like 100-180 mbps).
        100-180 is still slow for 5G network, but trust me works flaw less where
        network was strong (used to get like 570-680 mbps)

      And I have tried the same sim card on two different devices and getting good network, even told my carrier and they said the network is good too. Also contacting Nothing Support through device feedback is replied with bot generated reply.

      It feels like the network connectivity has became very sensitive, it changes very quickly and frequently and also tried to connect gain much network strength (4G+) even when higher network speed is available (Just 4G with better speeds).

      So, I have created this discussion to express my concern and to check who other community members are facing this.

      Team please look into this.

      May I know why Internet is very slow only in my which is nothing 2a plus ?

      I’ve updated my latest security patch which include network stability but the problem did’nt improve. My jio 5g net often changes to 4g atleast 5 times a day. Is anyone facing the same issue?

        Before NOS 3.0, 5g network in my area was quite stable and strong, it barely switched from 5g to 4g. But after the recent major android update the network fluctuates too much. I am mostly unable to use 5g throughout the day, even if i have enabled ‘STANDALONE 5G’ it automatically keeps switching from 5g to 4g thus consuming my daily 4g quota, after that neither 4g works nor 5g, Nothing OS team kindly look into this.

          I don’t know why u guys didn’t covered the topic The network quality is not good I used same sim of a company with a same recharge plan I wasn’t able to access 5g it’s show 5g but give speed of a 4g recharge. U need to do something

          I am writing to look if anyone else is facing this issue or is it a common things.

          Device is nothing phone 1

          When the device gets locked, the network changes from 5g to 4g. This happens both during internet connectivity turned on and off.

          If this is something that can be fixed, please provide your solutions.
