Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased the Nothing Phone 2a and have been very impressed with its features and performance so far. However, I noticed a significant security concern that I believe many users might also find important.

Currently, the Nothing Phone 2a does not require a password or any form of authentication to power off the device. This poses a risk in situations where the phone is lost or stolen, as the person who finds or steals the phone can easily turn it off, rendering any tracking or remote access features useless.

I believe it would greatly enhance the security of the device if Nothing could implement a feature that requires a password to power off the phone. This would prevent unauthorized shutdowns and increase the chances of recovering a lost or stolen phone.

Has anyone else experienced this concern? What are your thoughts on this potential security feature? I hope Nothing considers adding this in future updates.

Looking forward to hearing your opinions!

I am also expecting this feature in this nothing phone 2A

I bought this mobile only yesterdayI bought this mobile only yesterday. The first thing I did after buying it was to look for that option. In the end, only disappointment remains.

I hope this nothing will give this feature as soon as possible

Hi Nothing Team, please try to implement this feature for the next update.

It would be more secure if the nothing phones ask for password before turning the POWER OFF. It would prevent the phones from turning off after theft. It will also provide time for the owner to track the phone, which will not be possible if the mobile is switched off. I think NOTHING brand should start working on their device security if they want to compete with APPLE in the long run.

I’ve been using the Nothing Phone-2 for the past 4 months, and it has been a great experience. 📱✨ I had an idea for an added security feature when powering off the phone. Implementing a biometric or PIN security check before shutting down the device could help track the phone if it is stolen 🔒🔑. Additionally, if a thief tries to crack the PIN and exceeds the retry limit, the phone could enter battery saver mode, focusing on location and GPS while closing other background apps to enhance the tracking process 🌍🛰️.

What do you think of this suggestion?

It is a must feature in every device which is lacking in nothing phones. I ve been using phone 1 for 2 years waiting for dis feature to be rolled out. I don’t know about other countries, but at least in India it is a must. Recently my friend’s phone 1 got stolen and they were unable to track since it was immediately switched off and one week later data has been wiped off without switching on the device. When u pay 30k for a device, u expect it to be in your control. There are talks about some anti theft features in android 15, but password to switch off is a basic update which will be very useful to consumers. Hope nothing takes prompt action in dis matter.
