Hi Nothing Team, please try to implement this feature for the next update.
It would be more secure if the nothing phones ask for password before turning the POWER OFF. It would prevent the phones from turning off after theft. It will also provide time for the owner to track the phone, which will not be possible if the mobile is switched off. I think NOTHING brand should start working on their device security if they want to compete with APPLE in the long run.
I’m a phone 1 user from lunch. The phone recieved countless os updates, but they don’t bother the mejor security problem of the phone. After almost 2 years of use my phone is not THEFT PROOF.you can easily lost your phone the next second you loose. Nothing team …. Please add the feature to ask for security pin/biometric for power off/restart.
I’ve been using the Nothing Phone-2 for the past 4 months, and it has been a great experience. I had an idea for an added security feature when powering off the phone. Implementing a biometric or PIN security check before shutting down the device could help track the phone if it is stolen
. Additionally, if a thief tries to crack the PIN and exceeds the retry limit, the phone could enter battery saver mode, focusing on location and GPS while closing other background apps to enhance the tracking process
.
What do you think of this suggestion?
If anyone has other ideas or suggestions, please feel free to share!

It is a must feature in every device which is lacking in nothing phones. I ve been using phone 1 for 2 years waiting for dis feature to be rolled out. I don’t know about other countries, but at least in India it is a must. Recently my friend’s phone 1 got stolen and they were unable to track since it was immediately switched off and one week later data has been wiped off without switching on the device. When u pay 30k for a device, u expect it to be in your control. There are talks about some anti theft features in android 15, but password to switch off is a basic update which will be very useful to consumers. Hope nothing takes prompt action in dis matter.

During theft , thief shouldnt be able to switch off or restart the phone while it’s been locked hence password facility to be given, Now eagerly waiting for this feature to be provided in next update
