Dan_ie I switched from redmi and software is good but optimisation is worst I would suggest OnePlus as it has better software than nothing and hardware also in same price

The optimization of Nothing is very good, so you can safely switch to it. The Nothing launcher has taken a lot from the Pixel launcher, adding many of its own features that enhance functionality.

I just left the Pixel two months ago for the Nothing 2a Plus and I like everything that Nothing gots to offer

Tweezy1 This is exactly the kind of stuff I wanted to hear! I was so close to getting the 2a+ community edition, but since I knew 3 was coming I thought I’d wait. The surprise was that 3 didn’t come, 3a did! But it ticks all the boxes, the only thing I’ll probably miss is wireless charging, but I think I can live with that if I’m paying less the price of a Pixel phone!

      7 days later

Dan_ie now that we have 3a pro with the prism lens, time to forget pixels 😅

iambhuvan haha yes! Although I prefer the 3a, I’m more of a symmetrical type of guy. But surely the 3a can produce photos that are equivalent or better to those from the Pixel 5 and that’s good enough for me.

I sometimes don’t understand whether people are serious when they create a topic like this. I have used Pixel 1 XL, 2XL, 3XL and Pixel 8 before buying this trashy 2a. I sold the Pixel 8 because screen was too small. Camera was not as good as iPhone 15. So wanted a cheap phone in the intervening period until I bought a proper flagship.

But this is one premium level garbage. Never had a phone like this which cannot do even the most basic things. Practically an unusable pos.

SauravGhosh_YSyIGtH5QM Not everyone uses their device in the same ways that you do. Nothing Phone’s might not be what you are looking for but that doesn’t mean they can’t be great for others. More choices for devices is good! Competition, even in the mid range, is good! Feel free to go enjoy your iPhone.

I don’t by a second think that Nothing Phones are better than Pixel Phones. However, in terms of bang for your buck I think Nothing delivers way more value for what they cost. Not everyone needs a flagship, not everyone needs a waterproof phone so you can go scuba diving with it and not everyone plays games on their phone. This is why I would never buy an iPhone, I just can’t justify the price, I’m not saying they’re not good phones, of course they are (although the OS is not to my taste).

Phones are boring these days, what have Google, Samsung or Apple done in the past few years that is really innovative? The design language Nothing brings in both hardware and software is very refreshing. They’re very new in this game too and have already accomplished so much IMHO. They deserve a chance to really prove themselves. I think they’ll be getting my money.

LordDrakkon how I use my phone is irrelevant to the actual bugs that are persisting with the phone 2a. Bugs such as no notifications, or extreme choppiness in 120hz mode, or 5G keeps falling back to 4G etc are phone 2a exclusive. And then there’s the hardware stuff like poor camera, and a dread of a vibration motor, and substandard display.

No phone is perfect, but then again no phone misses out on such basic things as this one does. This phone is for two kinds of people, those who are paid to praise it, and those who are utter fools. Sorry, but I’m neither. Nothing’s scam will be exposed sooner or later.

SauravGhosh_YSyIGtH5QM Nothing has been making phones for only a couple of years. All manufacturers have had bugs or hardware issues at one point or another.

To be honest at this point I don’t care about bugs or issues in the 2a or previous phones, I care about the 3a phones. Are these better than the previous ones? Have some of the bugs been addressed? Is the hardware and software improving?

So far all reviews I’ve seen of the 3a are generally positive. Whatever cons that have been raised I see as acceptable for a phone in this price bracket.
