Edit: Applications for this role are now closed.
As you may have heard, our Community Board Observer position is about to be vacant, which means it’s time for another election! A big shoutout to @Louis ☕️ who has been representing our Community across 2023.
For those that are new, the Community Board Observer position was created to ensure that our members are represented at the highest possible level. It is the Observer’s task to watch, analyse and engage across our community platforms. They should have a good understanding of what our members are thinking and feeling as it is their responsibility to report back to Nothing’s Board. You read that right: Nothing’s quarterly board meetings are attended by a community representative, and that person could be you.
So, who will take this prestigious position for 2024? Well, they will be elected by the community itself by means of an election. There are a few changes to the application and selection process this year so let’s get into the details:
What is the criteria to be a candidate?
What are the CBO’s duties?
Be active and approachable
- Engaging with members and on our community platforms
Proactively seek to improve Nothing products by bridging company and community
Attend quarterly board meetings and present findings
Be available as a community spokesperson, representing the community voice
The Community Board Observer will represent our members in dedicated Board meetings every 3 months for 1 year. This is the most rewarding part of the role. The elected candidate may also have exclusive contact with our largest shareholders and CEO. They will get privileged insight into the most exciting things happening backstage and hold the responsibility of ensuring the community voice is heard and considered in future plans.
If you’re interested in this role, you’ll need to submit your candidacy via the form found here. Applications will then be reviewed by the Nothing team and a small group will be shortlisted for voting by the community. Voting will take place here on nothing.community in December.
An individual member can occupy this role for up to 3 years consecutively, however, they must apply and be elected according to the process outlined above, each year.
Before you jump into your application, please keep in mind that this position isn’t meant to be a job: it’s a voluntary role for those looking to raise the voice of our community. It gives you the chance to represent our members, engage with our leadership team and gain insider access into Nothing.
Think you have what it takes? Submit your application today and get ready to help make Nothing the best it can be. Applications close 22 November 17:00 GMT.
