Firmware (bot) After this update, I did not encounter bugs mentioned above, but I still have some issues.. camera is inconsistent. Haptics implementation is really poor, like volume, brightness, and some more toggles etc.

    Lately, ā€˜inconsistentā€™ has become a trendy word when talking about the Nothing Phone 2. So when I see it, I know itā€™s just whining. šŸ˜ƒ

    Honestly I havenā€™t encountered any of this ā€˜inconsistentā€™ problems so far. For the camera Iā€™m using Gcam

    Did not get the update yet.

    I recommend setting the screen refresh rate to 60hz.. was debugging it and it runs mostly all the time at 120hz, even on a static screenā€¦ on the settings menuā€¦

    That fixed most of my battery drainage. Did not have an issue prior to 3.0.

    The HDR setting seems to be the same to me.. debugging it says everytime ā€œ1.0ā€ even on hdr movies, so i disabled it.

    I use velis auto-brightness.. so.. whatever. Had to install it since 3.0, it was too unconsistent.

    My only gripe atm are media apps draining battery during the night for some reason, otherwise it is still a very stable system without meta, google and bloatware as such.

    Only the damned Whatsapp. without battery permission ā€œall the timeā€. otherwise it would kill my phone overnight and I am not updating ever again the app, unless that version is no longer supported.

    Conclusion: Meta and google are always spying on you and working around android restrictions to be running all the time. It is not Nothing Team fault.

    Also, most or all of us have the battery degrated. probably +10% since it was purchased. The apps get more demanding with time, and Android OS, so you have to live with it. Even with snap gen 8+

    Go open source on everything and install Gcam. I recommend AGC 9.2 with HSDv1.1 config. The photos are amazing. Use the default app only for videos or washed up selfies.

    Setup smart unlock if you have a smartwatch (I have the CMF watch pro 2. Love the damned thing.. only 50ā‚¬ for that amount of quality and casual disconnects), that so you can double press the power key and open Gcam.

    I am very happy with the device, owning only samsungs before. The bugs on those on each update wereā€¦ outrageous ā€¦ and the hardware did not lasted me an year with flagships (camera module not focusing on s21 ultra and the same faulty module thingy still present on newer models, or fold 4, breaking loose the internals by doing nothing bad at all. the screen was immaculate and i had soo much care.)

    Nothing needs to achieve a good market value on cheap phones, so they get some trust for flagships. It is Marketing, we cannot do ā€œnothingā€ about it.

    Also, Phone (2) should have less beta testers to implement features and get updates faster, since it is more expensive and getting outdated.

    After the update encountering following issues:

    1. Battery draining rapidly
    2. Many applications crashing (Google chrome, Google email, Chat GPT, Text messages etc.)

    Please fix the issue as the phone is of no use except i can only call.

    Please tell me the solution of it or give me step for rollback to last update

    Merged 1 post from Network Issues occur after March update istalled on my nothing phone (2).

    It has been 4 days and the update not rolling on in portugal. I guess they halted it.

    I guess it was a buggy mess this time and i bite my words. probably only released in India and maybe USA by your usernames.

    Auto-updates disabled until i see no other reason or have no other choice but to install a rom. it works well enough as it is šŸ˜…

    Anyone facing network issue(slow network speed) after updating to this version?

    Also noticed battery draining Even in ideal mode. Is there any way to downgrade this to previous version?

    I use haptics only for fingerprint and rest is kept off. Now I cant use it only for fingerprint ? What is this update ? A joke ?

    We need more control over things. We donā€™t need apple kind of treatment. Either have it all on or all off. Not a smart move man.

    Finally got the update to download, and it is the same 82.63MB.

    I swear to god if this breaks my phone I am flashing it. For the moment Iā€™ll try to ignore your issues/ bugs as i never experienced what you guys mentioned in the past. (global A065)

    Ok, i only see improvements. I am actually able to resize popup windows properly, im switching from gcam to the oem cam. No heating issues or any other bug mentioned aboveā€¦ i would probably say slightly faster OS (hard to tell) with the dynamic refresh rate fixed and not 120hz all the time.

    Iā€™ve got no clue if your countrys are beta testers, but ive received, or at least i saw, the same update with the same download size. I dunno if your phones have a slightly different model with some defect. Cannot even start to imagine what kind of bloatware you have installed.

    Dunno, go iphone. Disable xdr, enable hdr for vibrant, no hdr for a more realistic tone.

    Take it as you may, i give up looking up the updates before installing them here ever so on into the future.

    After a bunch of camera testing on a 23 degree Celsius environment:

      TLDR - Keypad Haptics - Fingerprint Haptics - Gesture Haptics should be individually controlled !!! BY THE USER.

      Post - I understand thereā€™ll be some brain dead ideas in a group. But moving finger print haptic under all haptics tops everything.

      I was quiet when keyboard haptics isnā€™t individual. I love keypad haptics which I canā€™t enable unless I enable it all. (I hate haptics on gestures)

      But now you moved even fingerprint haptics there. Did any single person from the community request this feature ? I NEED 1 POSTS which says, move fingerprint haptics to all haptics.

      Why break / introduce something thatā€™s already perfect ?
