thalapathy I don’t know… yours may be a special case. Here are my observations:

1. Battery is great. 6 hours of SoT with 33% battery left.
2. No heating issue in normal usage.
3. 5G connectivity not great but ok.
4. Camera is same. No noticeable change.
5. Haptic for fingerprint sensor is linked to the touch feedback.
6. Auto brightness doesn’t go to zero in low light.
7. I don’t play much games ..can’t comment on that.

Yesterday I’ve updated my phone & it’s the worst update I’ve ever seen I got a connectivity issues alot please fix this asap.

Lately, ‘inconsistent’ has become a trendy word when talking about the Nothing Phone 2. So when I see it, I know it’s just whining.

Honestly I haven’t encountered any of this ‘inconsistent’ problems so far. For the camera I’m using Gcam

I recommend setting the screen refresh rate to 60hz.. was debugging it and it runs mostly all the time at 120hz, even on a static screen… on the settings menu…

That fixed most of my battery drainage. Did not have an issue prior to 3.0.

The HDR setting seems to be the same to me.. debugging it says everytime “1.0” even on hdr movies, so i disabled it.

I use velis auto-brightness.. so.. whatever. Had to install it since 3.0, it was too unconsistent.

My only gripe atm are media apps draining battery during the night for some reason, otherwise it is still a very stable system without meta, google and bloatware as such.

Only the damned Whatsapp. without battery permission “all the time”. otherwise it would kill my phone overnight and I am not updating ever again the app, unless that version is no longer supported.

Conclusion: Meta and google are always spying on you and working around android restrictions to be running all the time. It is not Nothing Team fault.

Also, most or all of us have the battery degrated. probably +10% since it was purchased. The apps get more demanding with time, and Android OS, so you have to live with it. Even with snap gen 8+

Go open source on everything and install Gcam. I recommend AGC 9.2 with HSDv1.1 config. The photos are amazing. Use the default app only for videos or washed up selfies.

Setup smart unlock if you have a smartwatch (I have the CMF watch pro 2. Love the damned thing.. only 50€ for that amount of quality and casual disconnects), that so you can double press the power key and open Gcam.

I am very happy with the device, owning only samsungs before. The bugs on those on each update were… outrageous … and the hardware did not lasted me an year with flagships (camera module not focusing on s21 ultra and the same faulty module thingy still present on newer models, or fold 4, breaking loose the internals by doing nothing bad at all. the screen was immaculate and i had soo much care.)

Nothing needs to achieve a good market value on cheap phones, so they get some trust for flagships. It is Marketing, we cannot do “nothing” about it.

Also, Phone (2) should have less beta testers to implement features and get updates faster, since it is more expensive and getting outdated.

After the update encountering following issues:

1. Battery draining rapidly
2. Many applications crashing (Google chrome, Google email, Chat GPT, Text messages etc.)

Please fix the issue as the phone is of no use except i can only call.
