Kindly add an option to toggle post production affect in default camera…it’s not always helpful esp in low light indoor environment

Hey,

I am a new user of the Phone 3a Pro, the one thing that would help me in my daily struggles, would be a permanent volume for a message from a specific contact or app.

I am a volunteer firefighter and in my station (Poland) we get na SMS about an alarm.

Curently I got it to work VIA macrodroid and the SMS is the trigger to get my volume all the way up and Play a sound. Surely there are other ways to use it (home security, elderly alert) so that people who leave the notifications disabled would still be able to be alerted.

I wish there was proper grid customization for Nothing Launcher. When I set 5×5, Nothing widgets are all still designed for 2×2 and cannot be resized, leaving a 1×2 empty space. 5×5 with slightly smaller icons would be amazing!

I guess the true tone is to be an essential feature on every phone. Automatically adjusting the brightness and color temperature of the device according to the ambient lighting will cause less strain in your eyes. I think everybody agree on this.

I wish the opened folder modal is positioned lower for easy access of the apps.

First of all, I really appreciate how Nothing actively listens to its users and implements improvements swiftly. That’s one of the biggest reasons I chose the Nothing Phone (3a Pro), and I’d like to share some feedback and suggestions that could enhance the camera and system experience even further.

🔴 Camera App – Video Recording Limitations

  • Ultrawide Not Available in 4K 30fps and 1080p 60fps modes. Please allow switching.

  • Zoom Limited to 8x despite hardware being capable of 60x in video.

  • Periscope Lens Not Utilized for 3x or higher zoom in 4K 30fps and 1080p 60fps. It only works in 1080p 30fps. This should be unified across all video modes.

  • No Manual Toggle for OIS/EIS, which limits professional control.

  • No Option to Switch to Selfie Camera While Recording – available in competitors like Motorola Edge 50 Pro.

🟡 Camera App – Feature Requests

  • Add 4K 60fps video recording (hardware supports it).

  • Introduce Cinematic Portrait Video Mode (like Realme 14 Pro+ or Galaxy S23 FE).

  • Add Expert/Manual Video Mode with manual focus, ISO, etc.

  • Periscope lens not zoom till 60X in Expert mode (because to want manual focus at 60x)

  • Allow Glyph + Torchlight ON simultaneously during video recording.

🟣 Snapchat Camera Integration

  • Ultrawide and periscope lenses aren’t accessible in Snapchat.

  • Devices like Motorola Edge 50 Pro offer full lens support in Snapchat.

  • Please work with Snapchat to enable all sensors for an improved in-app camera experience.

🎨 User Experience & Aesthetic Suggestions

💡 Always-On Display (AOD)

  • Add option to display a photo on AOD, like Samsung.

  • Fix misaligned charging percentage text below the fingerprint ring.

👆 Fingerprint Sensor

  • Introducing a more refined animation for the fingerprint sensor, where it gradually glows apart from the background, similar to iPhones, would add a premium touch

  • Add Nothing-style sound effect on fingerprint unlock.

🕒 Lock Screen Improvements

  • Enable clock to appear behind wallpaper subject, similar to iOS for immersive look.

🛠️ Nothing OS: System Feature Enhancements

📲 Essential Key Customization

  • Allow assigning multiple tasks or shortcuts to the Essential Key.

🔋 Battery & Charging

  • Add Bypass Charging Mode for gaming to preserve battery health.

  • Display Battery Health status like iPhones.

🔦 Flashlight Control

  • Include adjustable brightness levels for the flashlight.

📁 App Drawer & Grouping

  • Allow custom app group creation in the app drawer.

📞 Call Recording

  • Add Auto Call Recording option for all incoming/outgoing calls.

📱 Nothing App Suite Requests

Would love to see a Nothing-designed app suite with signature aesthetics!

🖼️ Photo Editing & Camera Capture Modes

  • Add a dedicated Nothing Photo Editor (currently reliant on Google Photos).

  • Simplify resolution toggle in camera:The camera app should have an option like iOS to switch between 12MP and 50MP easily.

    If the camera supports 50MP, it should take photos in 50MP by default. The ultra-wide camera (8MP) should always take photos in 8MP, even when 50MP mode is on. The 3x periscope camera (50MP) should take 50MP photos by default, but if zoomed beyond 3x, it should automatically switch to 12MP for better quality. Right now, switching between 50MP and 12MP manually is frustrating—especially when taking ultra-wide shots or zooming. Automating this process would make the experience smoother and more user-friendly.

I moved from realme to nothing 3a, and missing some of it’s features like, smart slide bar, floating window, split screen. I used to use these features too often so i request nothing team to include these in nothing software. Also introduce editing in your own gallery apk. And also waiting for nothing official dialer, I don’t like google dialer as it doesn’t go with rest of the nothing aesthetic, I’m using another dialer download from playstore which have nothing like aesthetics and design, but really wants nothing official dialer. Hope nothing team will work on this🫶🏻

    Love the Phone (2a) so far, but I’m missing one small but handy feature from iOS: **automatically switching wallpapers when toggling between light/dark mode**. Right now, dynamic wallpapers only adjust slightly, but it’d be awesome if we could set *two separate wallpapers* that change with the theme.

    **Bonus suggestion:** It would be even cooler if this update came with **new exclusive wallpapers** designed specifically for light/dark mode switching! Nothing’s design team always nails the aesthetics, so more wallpapers would be a welcome addition.

    This would add extra polish to the software and make customization even smoother. Any chance this could be added in a future update?

        the option to have multiple saved lockscreens+homescreens and getting to quickly change with them. i think thatd work really well with the current version of nothing is and thats a feature that ive always liked about the newer ios versions

        TlDr: keep existing essential glyphs under “simple” settings and make an “advanced” menu, like nothing X app, allowing us to set specific segments to light up, brightness or if the light is to blink in some ways, for different notifications, people or apps.

        Love the essential glyph feature. I often have my phone silent, or miss the actual notification, for example when its on a table screen down. It really helps me to see if i have new important messages.

        But, i never know what kind.

        My suggestion? Im sure a lot of people asked this. I know it might take *some* work to put into nothing os but it shouldn’t be something you guys can’t handle.

        Make it possible to, like the ringtone with sounds, allocate different glyphs to different apps, contacts or categories of notification.

        Like have the punchhole glyph only light up for a specific person, the camera glyph to social media apps, charger glyph for system, etc..

        And it would also be nice to add Brightness control to the individual apps.

        And, a more complicated feature, but you could make an option to pulse, blink or show different patterns with the light, to make the most important notifications extra apparent.

        it might make the essential glyph menu too complicated or discouraging. But then, you could make it like the equalizer on the nothing ears. Add a slider to the top, keep the existing menu as a “simple” tab, and make an “advanced” tab, following my idea of essential glyphs, so we could control the brightness and specific lights for specific notifications. It would add a giant feature to the glyph lights, make them much more appealing, useful, and overall worth it.

        If there’s a good reason, like battery saving or hardware limitation, why you can’t possibly do it, im sorry. Otherwise please try. I think a lot of people would appreciate it.
