Hey Nothing community!

I’m excited about the potential of the Nothing Phone 3a and its camera capabilities. With its Camera2 API support and Snapdragon chipset, I believe we can significantly enhance its image processing using Google Camera (GCam) ports. I’m looking to gather a group of enthusiasts to work on developing GCam ports and XML configurations for this device.

If you’re interested in contributing to this project, please reply to this thread. We’ll need developers familiar with GCam porting and those experienced in creating XML configs.

To kick things off, we need to identify the exact camera sensors used in the Nothing Phone 3a. Despite checking various reviews and spec pages, I haven’t been able to pinpoint the specific models. The phone features a triple camera setup, including:

- 50MP primary camera- 50MP periscope telephoto lens (3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom)- 8MP ultra-wide angle lens

If anyone has information about the exact sensor models or can help gather this data, it would be incredibly helpful. This information is crucial for optimizing GCam performance on the device.
Let’s work together to unlock the full potential of the Nothing Phone 3a’s camera system! Your expertise and collaboration can make a significant difference in improving the photography experience for all users of this device.

Update - I was able to get models after running ADB Commands.

Front - s5kkd1
Main - s5kgn9
Ultrawide - imx355
Telephoto - s5kjn5

Building a GCam for the same.

For anyone interested to replicate or check their own sensors,
enable developer options, adb , connect to pc,
run this command adb shell dumpsys media.camera > camera.txt
then try to look for cameraSensor or similar strings and convert ascii to text.

hey man, im not comfortable sharing/creating my telegram account and i think its my wish on whether i should.

and secondly, im not asking him to make or teach me how to make a app for my personal reasons, im asking him to help cause the 2a doesn’t have any reliable gcam ports and i thought he might help.

    hope you understand.
