As of this year, I transitionned to an apple ecosystem, which is composed of :
-iphone 11 pro + airpods pro + macbook air (no watch or band)
Last year, I had a redmi k20 pro, nuraloops earbuds from nura and a galaxy watch active, and i sold the two latter and kept the redmi out of affection.
This is explained by one thing : I went from high school to college and from living with my family to living on my own, and while I always loved to thinker with my tech products, it takes a lot of time and I realised I needed some devices to get the work done. Of course I still love new tech products, inovation and all, but I can’t just flash some new custom rom any day or switch to linux on my laptop and still work as much as I should. So I went with apple. My tech is certainely not exciting, but everything works as it should, its flawless and that’s the beauty of it and what nothing should walk toward to.
I miss usb c, my gcam, clean android or the simple fact to have a different phone that every other teenager, but somehow everytime I go back to my android, I lose airdrop, I lose handoff, I lose siri, I lose the ecosystem that made the little things in my life easier. So there you go for me, If I did not have a PC I would definitely go back to android for fast charging or other quirks.
Another thing regarding privacy, there is no way around google on android, and that’s a shame.
To summerize, these are Apple products’s features I love and would love to see on Nothing’s guidelines :
-Amazing software support along the years
-value of my products is kept along the years
-products work together, features are invisible in some way,
-awesome customer service and support
-don’t target only tech enthusiasts, because it’s not sustainable. Instead focus on developing a product that’s easy to understand and can serve everyone.
And things apple products don’t have but which should be on Nothing’s guidelines :
-open standards (usb c, wireless connectivity)
-reparability
Hope this helps somehow 😄
