Hey ! I hope you’re all doing good.

As you might have read from Carl Pei’s inteviews, Nothing wants to build a new ecosystem of devices, that will work and communicate seamlessly with each other.

The problem is that in order to have an ecosystem, you have to have several products. So my question is: what will be the advantages of Nothing’s headphones when they will be the only Nothing’s devices on the market in the first place? They won’t be able to work seamlessly with other devices. Will it work seamlessly with Android smartphones first, for example?

Also, in the long term, I hope Nothing will be the first company to build an ecosystem around Google Fuchsia. That would be a real revolution, and a real reason to consider buying Nothing’s products. It would make your products really special, aside of having different designs.

I really hope Nothing is working with Google on Fuchsia. I don’t think fans want “another competitor” building “another classic ecosystem”, you need to make it really special this time, Fuchsia could be the solution for that. Is making products with atypical designs and features like Google Fast Pair etc special ? I personally don’t think so.

Please Carl, be the first to release devices with Fuchsia <3

WilliamZimmer what will be the advantages of Nothing’s headphones when they will be the only Nothing’s devices on the market in the first place?

I believe the last announcement pretty much answers your question:

Design is still top secret but what we can tell you is that Ear 1 combines notes of transparency, iconic form, and refined functionality. It is the starting point that will define the artistry, confidence and craftsmanship that will carry our products and services for years to come.

[...] we believe the earphones market was begging for differentiation, a space where we can elevate design and deliver value from day one.

I totally agree with what you say about not building “another classic ecosystem”; this is one of the aspects I’m most interested to about Nothing, and I’m looking forward to see what are their projects. I’d like a universal ecosystem (that fades into the background), but I know it’s way more complicated than that: it’s all about licenses and market advantages (Google and Amazon are not NPOs).
S/O to Google Fuchsia, it could be an interesting option.
