Dear Nothing,
Letâs get one thing straightâpeople arenât buying your phones for chipsets or camera specs or any of that typical tech mumbo jumbo. Theyâre buying them for two reasons:
1. The Software â Clean, minimal, smooth. Honestly, flawless. One of the best Android experiences out there. No notes.
2. The Design â And this is where things get tricky.
Now, let me be clear: I am a designer myself and trust me the design isnât bad. Itâs actually really good. But itâs also⊠off. Itâs like the soul of âNothingâ is missing. Youâve built this strong identity around unique, instantly recognizable designâand now, just when that identity is finally becoming mainstream, you pivot?
This new look doesnât feel like an evolutionâit feels like a departure. Almost like someone else made this phone entirely. Hell, I saw a few concept arts that felt more like Nothing than the final product. This looks like something a kid made in Blender ânot a phone from the brand that was changing how we look at tech. IT LACKS THE SOUL u ditched the glyph great but ditched the design as well.
The Glyph Matrix? Still cool. Still love it. But the design overall doesnât speak âNothingâ to me anymore. And thatâs a problem, because for your company, design is everything.
Now letâs talk about the price. That, paired with this radical design shift, is what really killed the momentum. You narrowed your potential audience twice. If even one of those things had landedâthe price or the designâthis would be a very different story. If I be honest I was kinda close to actually buying it untill i saw the price.
People really donât care if the chipset is top-tier. They care about the vibe. The feel. The experience. Thatâs what made Nothing special.
Please donât lose that.
