"I'm finding the low-light camera performance to be a bit underwhelming. On paper, the hardware specs are very capable, similar to the Pixel 9 Pro, so it seems the bottleneck is the image processing. Is it realistic to expect that the developers will be able to improve this through future software updates?

CMF1_hacker I was going to say the same thing. I recall reading an article a while ago with an iPhone and the sensor from one of those autonomous cars causing the damage.

MadishettyKeerthana the moon pics are all AI-enhanced, it should be point and shoot, can you post to show the poor quality.

imhasib the closest you’ll get is the RAW setting in expert mode. You can make the camera app open in this setting. Also, the default settings have significantly improved NOS 4.0b compared to the later NOS 3.5 version, in terms of white balance/default EV in each lens and between lenses. It’s quite solid now.

Hey guys, just bought the phone 3a 5 days back, it's working perfectly! It was focusing the moon so fast after zooming in 15x or more, but today idk what's the catch it isn't focusing on the moon. Tried to restart the device didn't work! Battery saver was Off too! What should I do? I updated the device on the day I bought itself, the September Update. Idk what's happening guys is my device okay? Help 😭😭

Edit: okay it started working again 😭 idk what was going on with the camera

Someone can help me to know what are these options on the lower part? (Pentacle, snowflake, twist etc) It look to change nothing at the end on the picture. It’s only on portrait mode.

Stereobasic Types of background blur (bokeh) to be applied on your photo. I like the second one (left of stars, right of circles) the most. The differences are subtle though so try to snap the same object and then analyse them on a larger screen (PC, TV…) because it’s almost impossible to do that on a phone. Then with that find the one you prefer.

Stereobasic those are bokeh effects, I used to dSLR lens based on their bokeh which was driven by the blade shape in the aperture. I like the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 bokeh personally.

It’s all digitally controlled these days but some periscope lenses have interesting (bokeh) based on using rectangular rather than circular lenses.

If you are listening to us. Please have the option to manually turn off the processing that happens after taking the picture. Because many times the preview comes out very beautiful while taking the picture, but after taking the picture, the picture is enhanced by processing, there are many frame delays here, the frame we capture in camera is delayed and comes to another frame. What could be the solution for this?

Anonymous931 of course I know about the Expert mode… This is a phone camera, which is used for instant photo clicks. When you want to take an instant photo, not everyone has that much time to go to expert mode and set the camera settings, and take the photo…!

imhasib the 3a even back then was AI-moon-based photos. Post the shots so we can see them.

Nothing absolutely needs to fix two things: Shutter lag in low light—it’s impossible to take a picture of a subject that’s even slightly moving.

Switching between the main camera and telephoto lens (and vice versa) when shooting 4K 60fps video. These are annoying things, and we shouldn’t be the ones to find workarounds.

The rest, in my opinion, is secondary.

Grigius the low light issue is physics, one needs to have a longer exposure time (on the order of seconds sometimes). Expert mode can compensate by bumping up the ISO. You should be using the lens with the lowest f-number as that lens will allow the most light in.

Anonymous994 why not just made a new preset with your options and call it B&W 2 and just use that one?

I only really have one wish, and it would be too let us edit the LUTs “preferences” and save them, or have our preferences persist.

I.e. I pick B&W, turn off the border, turn on grid and take some shots. Next time I open the camera and choose B&W I have to change the settings again, every damn time.

Grid and border preferences should “stick” across the modes imho. While it’s not a deal breaker, it’s something that annoys me every time.
