i use samsung akg type c wired earphones( has inbuilt dac) with nothing phone 2 and i couldn’t get any audio

Recently I found that Nothing Phone (2a) is having compatability issues with most of the usb DACs, by reading some community topics. So I just contacted Headphonezone to enquire about the supported DACs for this devices. And what they said was surprising for me. “They are not recommending any DACs to be used with this device as this device is having compatability issues with almost every DACs which they are selling..”.

This exact same issue is persistent with phone 1 and 2 as well but nothing haven’t responded anything regarding the issue..

IF SOMEONE IS USING ANY DONGLE OR DAC WITH PHONE 2A PLEASE MENTION IT, SO THAT I CAN ALSO BUY IT🫠🥲.

yethuck I use a Jcally JA56 haven’t encountered this issue yet on nothing phone 2a but I had the issue on my secondary moto e13.

yethuck I’m using a Hidizs DH80S DAC/AMP and I have absolutely no issues. It plays bit perfect in Tidal and sound quality is good.

It wouldn’t hurt to get just a little bit more volume but that’s fine because my DAC has more than enough gain for my Sennheiser HD 400S or any Hidizs IEMs I own.

Have problems with FiiO BTR3. Have to either change the codec to aptX or turn off HD audio.

Its a bummer and hoping it will be addressed in the next OS update.

ive been using my kz am01 dac on phone 1 and its had been working flawlessly, no problems at all(high bit conversation for my lossless flac music was very smoot). unfortunately my dac’s right wire snapped and i could only get the left side’s audio(except is you hold a certain angle)

i dont understand what issues everyone else has been facing but maybe your ‘dac’ is actually just an adaptor and relys on your phones dac(gives analog from usb), which maybe the nothing phones dont have

I’m having problems with my new CMF Phone 1. My external DAC dongle - Audiocular CX Pro CS46L41, doesn’t work with my new CMF phone 1. Apparently this device has compatibility issues with many USB dongle DACs and this is a common problem. This is a big setback considering the lack of 3.5mm socket.

Now I’m an audiophile and a gamer as well. So a wired setup is extremely important for me. I need active dongles only and the One Plus passive USB to 3.5mm dongle/adapter will not work for me for various reasons.

What is the cause for this incompatibility? Is it the USB standard or is CMF / Nothing trying to force their wireless earbuds to customers? Also, (asking out of curiosity) do passive dongles (no DAC chip inside) like the one from One Plus work on this device?

Help needed - Can anyone recommend an external DAC dongle that works with this device please. I’m at the brink of returning or selling my 1 week old device due to this unwanted headache.

I’m using portronics type-c to 3.5mm DAC and it works fine with my phone 2a.

Why not give it a shot maybe🤷

DeerendraKumarK I have the Basesailor Type C to 3.5 mm jack for my CMF but with my IEM (KZ EDX Pro), I hear a hissing sound, do you hear the same in yours. Then I switched to OnePlus one and it works just fine.

May be you can switch usb compatibility on in Android 14. It will most probably work.

Can I use AUDIOCULAR – D10 CX31993 Type C to 3.5mm Portable DAC Dongle for my nothing phone 2a for my KZ IEM?

Or if you guys having any suggestions please give but my budget is under 1k.

I’m currently using portronics type-c to 3.5 mm converter so there is no problem with it but often I notice a thing where the music plays normally and suddenly the audio is cut but the music was still playing in the app. I have to restart the app to make it work smoothly.

That is why I thought there might be a problem with my DAC.

The apple USB C headphone adapter has a dac and amp in it and works on my 2a. It’s a bit quiet though so needs a bit of a boost. USB Audio Player does the trick.
