If the Google policy restricts the call recording function, you can give an option to trigger the nothing's recorder app widget when the call starts to automatically record it. But something needs to be done about the phone dialler app. It's almost 2026 now. Peace 🚩 \++ EDIT today, after 2 days , automatically, this error is gone but i see many threads on X where people facing similar issues, it is not consistent 👎

shahilchauhann impossible to find the second widget you are talking about. There is only one. When i click it say “select recording” but there is no option, only Ambiant recoding available.

Yes ofcourse,we can’t record conference call or when you are in call and you get second call it won’t record, that has to come in the dialler interface.

DJ yes man, it still need a manual click. Something automated would be great.

There are many issues with the Google caller app such as

the end call button is on the same area as the fingerprint scanner, so while trying to open the phone while on a call, you tend to cut the call as well.
The default Google caller app removed the starred contacts tab and now all the contacts and star contacts have to be accessed from the same tab
It’s harder to place labels on a contact, as compared to labels on something like the Samsung call app
The Google caller app has simplified the ui too much that now there are only 2 tabs, with the dialer and contacts. There should be at least 3 tabs, one for dialer, one for contacts, one for starred contacts.
It would be nice to have a caller app with the nothing ui design
The Google caller app lags a lot more than other caller apps

I am using the record widget like this and it works with that, issue is its always a manual step to click on this after you pick a call.

AnkushRathi Thank you for the video. So there is only one option for me on the widgets and it’s the one that don’t record system. Maybe it’s because of laws here in France that is very strict about recording calls.

The UI looks bigger and also, I would prefer a separate tab for contacts, now I have to move my fingers to find the contact button which seems very small already.

SiyonSavalajkar No there is a location based issue I started seeing it from the mid of October 2025.
