I am very disappointed of the nothing update 4.0 ..google released Android 16 with a lot of features and we got NOTHING..while other brands making their devices more special with lock screen customization and other items…

CMF1_hacker Keeping it clean and minimal is good, but upto what extent ? That doesn’t mean, more features should not be added ! We still dont even have the proper hotspot manager . Minimal ?No option to change even the color of the lockscreen clock widget,because of that we cannot have particular types of wallpapers. Minimal ?

Just a few tweaks here and there ,and Boom , here we have the another “MAJOR” android update.Thanks to the minimalism👏🏻

AbiS_MjZL72iTVk yes, we didn’t buy it because it’s a minimal phone. If that was the case one could buy any cheap phone and debloat it.

Some of these Features are very much important and should the basic thing on a device.

CMF1_hacker As of now , we can "only set the limit for the connected devices , we can’t block , we can’t set a limit to the data usage , we cant even see the names of the devices connected .

It was known from the start that the goal was to keep a stock experience with some small tweaks there and there. No idea what people expect since Nothing doesn’t want to be a competitor to MIUI or other OEM ROMs bloated with customisation.

Err_404NotFound I gather that in order for NTL to add the desktop mode feature, their devices need to have USB C Type 3.0, which they do not. 👎

Correct, USB 3.0 or better is needed, 5 Gbps bandwidth minimum (USB 2.0 has 480 Mbps, so more than 10 times less).

CMF1_hacker how old are you? Because your replies don’t make any sense. People have paid money for their devices and they can whine or complain about the issues they are having. I have no idea what’s your problem with their issues? If you are happy with your cmf1 then be happy with it, don’t waste others time.

Would’ve been great to have it here too IMHO.

edit: yeah, it crashes when trying to load the VM.

The point of it is to use it in desktop mode, with external displays, as a unified experience on all devices (so not just Samsung DeX and similar implementations).

CMF1_hacker Oh yeah, just updated to the Beta and it is there! But, same issue here. Just gives a “Non-protected Vms are not supported on this device” error.

But the fact that the option is there is a good start! Hopefully the issue will be resolved later?

Anonymous931 But wouldn’t that only affect DeX-like functionality? I would be content with the Terminal alone tbh, having GPU acceleration on a VM sounds pretty fun!

Either way yeah you guys are right it does have Terminal support, it’s just broken atm. Hopefully they fix it in the later Beta updates!

interestingly, these seems to be q Qualcomm issue rather than a NTL implementation issue and it could be corrected with a OTA update.

So my question is why they do that ? What’s the point ? Why this choice ?

Maybe like that they don’t have to develop or adapt the new desktop mode ?

Maybe it’s to add some features on the next flagship saying “wee listen, here are the ALL NEW usb 3.0” ?

If the economy is really kind of zero, then what can be the explanation knowing that they knew very well that (some) consumers would find it disappointing.

All Nothing phones are stuck 25 years ago with USB 2.0.

Plus many more, I’m too lazy to search because search here is dysfunctional. But yeah, if you point out some good and positive things, or if you dare to think logically about the situation and not rush with conclusions, then it’s ⚠️⚠️⚠️ YoU aRe DeFeNdInG tHeM ⚠️⚠️⚠️ for sure.
