I’ve been using Nothing OS 4.0 beta on my Nothing Phone 2(a) for quite some time now. I don’t have the lock glimpse feature, so I won’t talk about that. From my experience, there isn’t much that feels groundbreaking or feature-packed this time. The Essential app is nice, but since it’s still in beta, it’s not a major addition yet. The new User Widget doesn’t excite me much either, and honestly, the new clock and dark mode aren’t really for me.However, there’s something special about this update that Nothing hasn’t talked about much — the refinement of the OS. Nothing has been aiming for consistency and polish for quite some time, and though they hadn’t fully achieved it before, it finally feels like they’re getting there. The experience feels more unified and cohesive now, with better attention to small details. Nothing should highlight this aspect because even if it’s not a big update feature-wise, it’s definitely a refined one.
