I’m not able to remove the status bar icons VoNR, even after disabling is from the status bar settings, it somehow shows up after sometime, please fix this in your next release

It’s important that you report those errors to Nothing’s Technical Support. I was sending reports about the Essential Notifications, and after 3 updates they were working great on NOS3.5. After the beta, they broke them again — they fail constantly.

It’s important that you specify exactly when they fail, send the rules you use, and even videos. It’s frustrating not being able to rely on Essential Notifications…

RuudHesp I think this is extremely tricky as this is NP3-specific hardware and there’s not any source code to share/borrow compare to. Everything had to be developed in house and tested by only NP3 users, which there isn’t a large pool of. Thus, you’re absolutely correct, this feedback is vital with precise narrated videos from another device.

RuudHesp Thank you, I have reported the issues I faced 2 days ago, am waiting for the fixes. Hopefully they get this fix soon as Essential Notifications are very important and is the highlight to NP3. Also some Presets crashes my native camera app. This is a very crucial bug too!

I understand that moving from Android 15 to 16 may have caused complications for them. But the testing has been very basic or insufficient. It’s not normal that within 5 minutes I’ve already found errors in the Essential Notifications system. We’re talking about the crown jewel of the Nothing Phone (3), and it has spent more months with errors than working well. I’m quite critical about this because with the NP2, after 2 years using it, I didn’t have a single issue. One of the reasons why Nothing is famous (aside from its design) is its reliability, and now I can’t say the same since I got the Nothing Phone (3); I’m constantly reporting Glyph Matrix errors, which is a shame. Hopefully they focus their efforts on polishing it and that we users aren’t the ones acting as testers for the supposed final OS.

RuudHesp yeah, this is a continuation of my “I can’t believe they wasted dev time on the icon pack and status bar update.”

Also, I’m not sure how they do internal testing for pre-release hardware. Is it informal where they have employees test it out? Does one send it to another team outside of NOTHING?

I like the way the reviews are being handled now but I think they might want to pick several users, like 2 dozen and ship them all stuff ahead of time and have them test various prototypes and the like.

Who’s testing the 4a for example pre-release?

Perhaps there’s an industry standard that I’m not aware of with outside firms?

In any case, the hardware is NP3-only, so I wonder how many people had tested it before release extensively? No other manufacturers can help as they don’t run the same hardware.

Instead of only community review, why not community alpha test? Or is the PR/IP/leak risk profile too high?

code913 ….sorry, but, this is your phone, and they just protect you before your own mistakes. I know many similar people claiming “it is my device, my decision, my risk” and then they try to claim damages from the device/SW manufacturer, saying that the manufacturer did not protect them enough. Do whatever you want, but there will be consequences. It is only your decision.

also download the video outside youtube and test if it works in vlc because youtube frequently ruins quality for me especially if playing at high playback speed

When Flip to Glyph is turned off, Glyph notifications do not work at all. When Flip to Glyph is turned on, Glyph notifications only work when the phone is face-down. All Glyph settings and notification permissions are enabled, but the problem persists. It seems that this issue is related to the Flip to Glyph feature, as the behavior changes depending on whether it is on or off.
