Good day to everyone! Especially to the Nothing Team.

This is to share my concern about the Cloned App feature on Pokémon GO.

This has occurred just today – which I was not able to log in my account specifically to the cloned app only.

The videos contained in this thread shows that the account can be logged in on the Original App, while the other one does not.

1.) Original Application – Working

2.) Cloned Application – Not working

Troubleshooting processes done are:

  • Re-installing the Cloned App
  • Force Close and Clearing the Cloned App’s Cache
  • Re-installing the Original App in the Playstore, then Clone the App after
  • Resetting Cloned App which will require your device to reboot

I would like to formally send this report, however, I can no longer find the feedback in Settings. I’d be glad to be assisted on how to do it.

Regards,

K

Someone mentioned this to me this morning, seems to be affecting multiple people. The feedback option being missing is a known issue and will return in a future update. In the meantime, try swapping your accounts i.e. use the main apps login on the cloned app, and the clone’s login on the main app. This seems to have helped others get access to both accounts.

‏‏‎Chris‏‏‎ Hello Chris! I greatly appreciate your response. I also tried switching the account logins to both the Original and Cloned. The Cloned App still gives “This account has failed to authenticate” message. I can’t say if this is somehow related to Google Play Services(?)

KinoRongavilla Not sure what else to suggest in that case I’m afraid! I only have one fairly inactive account on there so am unable to troubleshoot it myself. Do you have any other cloned apps which require a Google log in?

‏‏‎Chris‏‏‎ hello Chris! I have never tried yet with other apps that uses Google Account. I can finally play the game with two instance using a workaround I found on the internet. However, the issue is not resolved yet. I hope that this information has reached the Nothing OS Devmnt team so it can be resolved by the next update.

KinoRongavilla Glad to hear you have a temporary solution at least. What was the workaround out of interest? I just checked and the issue fixed itself for the friend I mentioned before (it wasn’t triggered/fixed with any updates) which suggests it might have been a server-side thing. Hopefully it’ll be fixed for you properly soon even before the next update though.

‏‏‎Chris‏‏‎ Thanks! I surfed through the web and I bumped into it. The workaround for having two instances is by installing another Pokémon GO App. It appears that there are two versions that exists. 🫣 Both are intended to have them separated on different Application Store. My apologies if I have to be subtle, but the idea is there. Cheers!

I’m actually waiting for an app update, might fixed the issue.

I have the exact same issue and is frustrating 😭

Also effecting other cloned apps.. that uses google to authticate.

On another game i play it mentions

“Check google play is enabled on your device and that you’re using an up-to-date version before opening the app.”

So i have even tried installing google play. And also cloned google play app and still having the same issue.

similar issue with me .Not only google but also its not letting me login to nay other accounts while using cloned app

theres a lot to improve ,but ik it takes lot of time to develop such things!.The only thing that triggers me is there is no announcement of next update for np(2).

Hello everyone! I haven’t been able to update in a while. This concern is not limited to Nothing Phone anymore. It is a known thing already to anyone who ever tried to clone the game. Thank you.

              Regards,
