Dudu Joseph Are all your apps up to date? If this issue still persists after double checking everything is updated, and you have done a reboot then I’d suggest providing further feedback via Settings > System > Feedback.

Yes. All apps and the OS are up to date. I have tried the reboot, as well as clearing of caches. But to no avail.

I’ll raise this issue in the feedback as well.

Same problem here too. OS 2.5.2 on Phone (1). Wallet no longer available in the shortcuts and no longer working as payment with the phone. All up to date, so now what?

Same issue about google home on phone(2)… i’ve found a workaround to re-enable it. you need an app that can be added to device controls like Tasker or Quick Device Controls. So…

Steps

  1. press on quick setting “Device Control”

  2. on top-right press 3dot and then “Add app” and confirm

  3. choose the other installed app (not google home) and press save at the next screen (if asked)

  4. go to lockscreen settings and now you can choose “Device controls” option

  5. after set, press again on the quick toggle (you can long-press on new button on lockscreen if you wish)

  6. on top-center you will see the name of the app thas was opened (i think you see google home, but not 100% for sure), press on that name and you will see a dropdown menu, choose THE OTHER APP

  7. press again the 3dot on top-right and then “Remove app” and confirm

  8. now you have only google home app on lock screen and you can uninstall the other app

Be careful, if you change the option on lockscreen you need to re-add the other app from step 2

Nav it’s an issue with Android per my understanding and particular within India as Google wallet is not a payment service here. It seems to be working well in countries where Google wallet is the established payment service from Google (not GPay). I don’t suppose there’s a workaround available, well atleast until Wallet turns into a payment service.

    • Nav likes this.

Nav I don’t currently use it, so I’ve never looked for a fix/workaround

Nav Not 100% sure , but I think Google Pay is the app to use in India

CarloHD thanks, I downloaded “quick device controls” since Tasker is a paid app (just want to get device controls back quick), then I added the app in device controls and was able to readd Device Controls back to lock screen shortcuts. After it was successfully back on lock screen shortcut I went back into device controls, made sure to click on the middle pulldown menu (should show Google home app by default and selected ‘remove app’ from three-dot menu, then uninstalled “quick device controls” as I no longer needed the app.

All good now, but weird we have to do it this way, normal user is not going to figure this out on their own and just give up.
